But where have you found that there will be a press conference? There was one today. I have looked on the official eurovision website, eurosong.be, rtbf.be, esctoday.com, deredactie.be, belgovision.com,... and I haven't found info about this press conference. I think it's just a rumour.

Yes, I said it was a rumour.

Nothing more than a rumour it seems:

Rtbf head of delegation answered shortly to questions about this rumour: 'This rumour is completely false. No disqualification, no press conference.'

So the bitter vegetable is here to stay I'm afraid...

Since they are having a press conference, I am sure that it is about a disqualification. That would mean that Sarina, that came 2nd in the NF, will get chosen! Looked at her preformance and if she gets chosen, she takes the spot of being the best song so far IMO! :D

How the flying fig did Witloof Bay beat Sarina?!

This is what happens when you allow a national final to be decided entirely by televoters!

Why??!! I like it very much. It's something different. The blind girl would have just given us a new Sorce moment.
We've had acapella groups perform before. They didn't do very well. Also, this song is a pure snore-fest.

Sarina's song would've appealed to the juries. Instant 12 from the French juries.

This? Not so much. The juries aren't very keen on "novelty" acts (acts which are "different"). They vote for song qualify and vocal ability, neither of which Witloof Bay is teeming with. Just because it's "fresh" doesn't mean the juries will like it. They most probably won't.

I don't like the song, but it will be the first ever song sang totally 'a capella'. I don't think they will qualify, which is a shame since Belgium can do much better than this... but they will definitely receive some votes from the Netherlands as always :p (Hopefully they will return the favour :D)

I agree with your sentiment, but Witloof Bay was sadly enough the favourite of both the televoters and the jury (both decided 50% of the vote).:?

lol I know you love the juries, but the juries gave only 8 to Sarina, while the viewers gave 10 to her. Both juries and viewers gave 12 to the winner, so enlighten me how the the juries were better then?

Of course we are going to give you points! I'm going to vote for the 3JS :D, cause I really love that song! I even voted for that song in your NF :D.

Oh, Wikipedia implies the jury was only there for commentating and that the vote was 100% a televote. Then I guess the Swiss jury was crazy as well.

Witloof bay received a high support from all the belgian choirs... My mom sings in a choir and she got a mail - sent to a lot, lot, lot of people, trust me - saying (!) that if we send Witloof Sh*t, we'll finish in the top 3 in the final... That's the kind of stuff bothering me... How can people who never watch the ESC say that ? We'll finish in the bottom 3 in the semi-final...

No wonder why they won the NF...

Over the years there were several a capella song, but they never ranked high. The song is good, but too special the get a firm base of supporters.

That's the problem with most casual Eurovision viewers. They think that what they personally like best will do best in Eurovision. I.e., they're delusional.

Seriously, I'm a "choir person" (3 years of choir in elementary school, 3 years of choir in High School (at a music school (well, partially, but its music programs were famous and required perfect grades), I might add)) and I hate the entry and know it will do poorly at Eurovision.

We're having the same problems in Sweden. People just vote for their personal favourite artists and songs and then are outraged and shocked that Europe hates them, even when we send the same kind of entries year after year.

Did you watch a different show than I did? The viewers gave 10 to Alexandre Dechamps.

This song is very underrated by fans, it's not that bad. Sarina would have been great to have in ESC though, "Rien en apparence" was a lovely song.

^Okay, I don't like either :s, but I think I prefer the Belgian song :s. I think I only like the a capella music by Mike Tompkins (not really a capella) or by The Maccabeats :D.
