I'm glad the group involved is refusing to change the lyrics, because no matter what they sent it would almost certainly be awful musically and would come from awful people.
And most Belarussians probably wouldn't feel represented by whoever was sent instead.

They're literally beating it around the bush, hoping Belarus Lukashenko will decide to withdraw like Russia did back in 2017. It would be funny for Belarus to pick another song and make preparations to participate only to get expelled in late April, like they did with us.

Belarus will not take part in the Eurovision 2021 contest. Let us remind you that the European Broadcasting Union rejected the application of Galasy ZMesta - "I will teach you", chosen by the Belteleradiocompany, but the song could not take part in the competition, in which they noticed political overtones. The EBU sent a statement to the broadcaster BTRK that the lyrics of the song should either be changed or another composition should go to the competition. No action was taken by BT and Belarus will miss the competition for the first time since 2004. 39 countries will take part in Eurovision 2021!

I mean, if it's the official OGAE VK page then yeah, no reason to distrust them.
No surprise either so we're probably going to get a confirmation by EBU in the upcoming day or two.

I thought that "dictator" said they will change the song? Lol. So I guess likely EBU decided not to fine them and they decided to withdraw. Or they managed to get funding for the fine and decided to get disqualified and paid for the fines. I think the pandemic has truly turned the world cray-cray.

The last sentence is not meant to say that's the reason of what has happened to Belarus.
I'm just putting a general comment and I'm sure the pandemic hasn't helped with the situation around the world and some controversies in ESC for the recent days. Everyone seems so uptight and easily triggered.

Ah I get it now, I thought for a while you thought Lukashenko went even more authoritarian or something and their choice of entry was because the regime went apeshit due to the pandemic

I guess this will be a good cherry on top for all the embarrassment they caused by this drama and chaos.
But needless to say, I'm honestly a bit skeptical about the accuracy. Would that mean OGAE Belarus has a BTRC insider leaking information for them or are they guessing from all the information the currenrly have?
