I cannot see anything similar in these videos, except for colors and the fact there are some girls, and guys wearing suits xsorry
Songs are very different too, they're both playful, but that's all.

What ESC songs (or music in general) is original? xshrug

I think in the context of ESC, it's actually kinda original and up-to-date.

Everyone is inspired by something but there actually are plenty of original artists out there today making music that's never been heard before. You just have to look outside of the mainstream to find it.

"cheesecake" is just as similar to "blurred lines" as "blurred lines" is similar to madonna's "give it to me"

Of course, but from a generally perspective (and that's the case even with non-mainstream music), it's hard to find something that is 100% original, and that's totally fine because it's pretty much impossible to do (and do we even want it? I mean for all we know it could turn out just being complete nonsense noise for the sake of "originality"?).

Though, ESC is a place that would need some more originality though...

Probably, the song isn't a masterpiece, but I think they can keep it... I still remember last year, when Belarus changed 'Rhythm of Love' (personally, I liked it) for 'Solayoh' (well, an ancient and unremarkable song).

'Work your Magic' is the best entry of :by:. xlove

I will never understand the love for this entry tbh

I'd personally rank it somewhere in the middle of the Belarussian entries to date.

I don't get it as well.
Belarus takes a respectable last place in my personal countries ranking.
To me it's:
#1 "We are the heroes" (before the revamp)
#2 "Cheesecake"
#3 all other songs from Belarus.
"I love Belarus" was great instrumentally but bad vocals and horrible lyrics murdered it.

It's not about the meaning, it's about the lyrics structure, I love Belarus got it deep inside (poor thing, she has a whole country insde :D) and i'm gonna everyday give you all my love.....ugh shoot me.
You see, you can put a meaning into a song many different ways, feel the difference:

Version # 1:

Baby why did i let you go
I miss you so
I want you back
I'm so alone
I'm crying without your touch
I need you so much

Version #2:

I didn't mean it
When I said I didn't love you so
I should have held on tight
I never should've let you go
I didn't know nothing
I was stupid
I was foolish
I was lying to myself
I couldn't have fathomed that I would ever
Be without your love
Never imagined I'd be
Sitting here beside myself
'Guess I didn't know you
'Guess I didn't know me
But I thought I knew everything
I never felt

The same meaning.
But what a difference, right?

Mostly it's belenglish that turns me off, i don't know about others, but i'd like "Work your magic" more if it was properly sang.

There is no human being in whole Universe who dislike that song, it's just mission impossible. That song is so idiotic that you must love it.

Me too! Even though the song is ridiculous I like it a bit, and find it catchy.
I think that was the purpose of the song - it was a secret plan by Lukasheno to try and conquer Europe through subliminal messages in the song
