Actually for me it does not make much difference. Their old version was for me like a pop song which wanted to cover it as rock (like many songs in esc), now they just lost the cover. Eg i would have supported to song getting a more rock arrangement to make it better, but turning into full pop doesn't make it much worse than it was...

their attitude towards fans and contest stinks...
if you don't think that this is a competition "good enough for you" why bother for years? knocking and knocking on its doors, bitchin' about the results, finally getting that place and dissing the contest?
if you position yourself as a rock artist, please act it. they don't succumb to peer pressure, they would sing rock even on a Christmas party for kids and grannies in the middle of Himalayas.

and the worst thing you tell those people that voted for you to basically go screw themselves if they don't like your techno-pop joint? way to lobby for votes!
bring back... anybody but those cocky entitled "rockers"

Who ever thinks that previous version was ROCK has never listened to ROCK music.
It is not like Scorpions changed a rock song to pop. Previous version was 100% pop with a messy productions full of guitars and now it is again a pop song with more dance elements. That is all and that is what "producers" should explain to Litesound.

i totally agree with you. never saw the group or the song as rock... but they scream that they are at every corner... and some people believe them

Great song! As much as I'd love ESC to be hosted in Minsk (mainly for its obscurity and sorta mystical identity), this song is probably not enough to make that happen :/. It has a decent shot at a place in the upper half of the scoreboard...don't wanna question whether they qualify as I see it as rather safe.

I find the guitar-gimmick rather funny. It isn't exactly a rock-entry but these guy make a heroic effort at becoming such.

7 points.

What a bad draw for Belarus.
Their pop song is after Maltas pop song.

New version I assume.

The isn't-exactly-a-rock-entry bit suggests the original to me  The new version doesn't really have anything like that anymore..

Why? because they got drawn between an anonymous ballad and one of the worst songs in the competition?
Belarus is between Malta and Portugal.
Malta is a nice dancy summer tune
Portugal is bad tango...

i wonder which of those is "an anonymous ballad" and which is "one of the worst songs" lol

actually Malta and Belarus are now kinda similar in style and feel, but i personally like Malta better. it's... idk "warmer"
tango is bad.

They are between 2 bad songs. If they sticked with the rock, they'd stand out. Their new pop song is as bad as other 2 songs. None of 3 will qualify imo.

Sorry but I really feel that some people have never heard ROCK music in their life!!! On what terms was the previous version of Belarus ROCK??????? Putting some guitars in a messy production that repeats itself all the time doesn't make a song ROCK!!!
I can accept some people liking the previous version more (even though the production was totally AMATEUR) but I can't accept calling it ROCK because it simple wasn't.

The case is that Belarus had a messy production of a pop song and now they have a much more professional production of the SAME POP SONG.
Nothing more and nothing less. It is not like they changed their song.

And as per the draw , I think it is great for them. Malta is a much worst pop song and Portugal is awful.

With the new version Belarus will walk through the semi final. It is much better for TV audience because it is much brighter.

And something more : why Belarus was last in all odds and polls with the previous version? Now they are somewhere between 10th and 12th place. By changing the version they got 5 to 8 places

It's light rock, but still rock. The new version is now pop. Simple. I wish people would stop going on about the production values. maybe Metallica should have remixed "...And Justice For All" because of the crappy production values? The production wasn't that bad, and the song is the most important thing, and most people liked it.

I'm fairly certain this will get eliminated in the semis, as it now blends in too much. If anything, this helps Malta and Portugal.

Although I wasn't a big fan of the first version, and I don't find new version that bad either, I think with this revamp they made the song to lose its identity. Now it sounds like a Sakis Rouvas' song, Kontopoulos is so predictable. I always confuse his songs when I listen to them in the radio, he composed a song for Antonis Remos, and whenever it begins, I always think that it's a song of Sakis and I "scream" (ironically as always) Sakiiiiiiiiii, but then I remember that it's actually Antonis Remos' song "Tora Epizo" (and my mother always thinks the same too)! Now the same will happen with this song, when I will listen to its intro, I'll think that it's Sakis again! xrollinglol
