I think Belarus will be my guilty pleasure this year
While the song is not really good it sure is entertaining, with a good performance it could even make it through to the final.

I love this song! :D
Much better than the previous song and it's my fave Belarussian entry just after Koldun. Should be improved though but I give my 12 points and hope they get the final, but semi 2 will be sooooo tough! at least 14-15 countries should qualify from here and very few from the first one.
I especially love the beginning, woooooo! :D

The video is also out (LQ)

I seriously love this song! I don't care what people think or the fact that it'll probably flop. For me this is one of the most refreshing entries this year!

Good luck Belarus :D

Don't be ashamed, sing with me "I LOOOOVE BELARUUUS"

I mean there are certainly more shameful entries to like in this year's contest.

lyrics

I'm feeling great. And it’s easy to be strong
When all the hearts keep on beating as one
The sky is blue and I'm writing a new song
Saying that I'm free, friendly and young

I have so much and I'm ready to show you
Let's come together so here is my hand
We're gonna fly watching lakes in their full view
Fields are full of gold, and it's all my land

I love Belarus
Got it deep inside
I love Belarus
Feel it in my mind
And I wanna see the sun
Shining from above
You will always be the one
I can’t get enough

I love Belarus
Got it deep inside
I love Belarus
Feel it in my mind
And I wanna see the sun
Shining from above
And I'm gonna every day
Give you all my love

So here I go and I'm ready to rise up
Just like a star guiding me through the night
I've got no fear and I will never give up
love is all we need and it's our light
Time will not erase

Courage and my grace
I'm stronger every day.
I say…

From a song standpoint, this is better than the original choice. But I have no doubt in my mind that casual viewers (not people like us) will laugh at this one and I don't blame them. It's songs like this that is giving ESC a bad reputation. I get that we all need our comic relief songs but if it's unintentional it's more uncomfortable than entertaining. I love Belarus.......to stay in the Semis.

I think there are better examples than this one this year giving Eurovision a bad reputation ;)

But making such patriotic (IMO even nationalistic) lyrics rubs me the wrong way and you know a lot of people (and you know I'm not referring to die hard fans but the casual viewers) will just roll their eyes especially lyrics like this coming from Belarus.

I don't care about silly entries like Ireland, Moldova etc but if a country is pushing a certain agenda, I just cannot approve of that.

I've got no problems with patriotism, doesn't turn me off what so ever (although I do have a problem with nazism and stuff like that, but that's another issue).

I think the fact that this song comes from Belarus is what puts people off and not the lyrics itself, which I on one hand understand considering the regime there, on the other hand I think people's prejudices are speaking. Just as much as this song may be political, is the interpretation non-Belarussians put in this song aswell, it really goes both ways.

Well, I know the purpose of this song, but I don't take it too serious, I find it quite amusing (can't say the same for Moldova and Ireland though).

And another aspect of it is the retro-Soviet sound of the song, which makes it kind of fun and stand out.

People had no problem with the revolution song in Slovenian selection, which was also communist-nostalgia, but since it's Belarus then we have to be serious and point fingers.

I think people should not put too much thought into it really, we all know anyways so let's just have "fun with it"

catchy, but I still don't like it for the same reasons as Matt points out.

I start to believe that, with a good draw, then Belarus may go to the final.

To be honest, I liked the previous one more. This one is not so trashy, not so Army of Lovers, so it's kinda difficult to become my guilty pleasure.
I think I'll pass...
