Wouldn't be surprised at all if it is actually rigged for mamagama. Weren't they the group that were being rumoured a while back?

Mamagama are pretty much already selected anyway. This is just to show who the finalists were.

I honestly don't get the "drama" here, wasn't it always supposed to be an internal selection as been the case most of the times with Azerbaijan? If that's so, then it's obviously at the discretion of the broadcaster to kind of do as they please. It goes without saying that internal selections aren't open, transparent and fair, it doesn't matter which country really. The opposite would be a public selection with a national final etc. , but it's not like the public has proper insight on those either and the selection process for entries is hardly fully open to the public either.

Where one can start to wonder about fairness is when the public can choose between different pre-selected entries, and it somehow ends up being pre-chosen or rigged in favor of a certain entry/artist anyways (or like in the case of Malta the broadcaster acts like they have a public selection, only to pre-select the winner and change the entry to something else later :lol:).

I mean... You can? an open submission with many different artists putting their song, package or whatever forwards. The choice is picked internally and not by the public. The idea is that it's meant to be a fair decision with everyone getting an equal shot and consideration. When it's already been predetermined who will get it, then the entire process is a sham and waste of time because no one has a fair shot - the process has been manipulated and rigged.

You can rig internal selections and you can rig national finals.. or you do something in between like :de: 2019 - miraculously adding a wildcard ("S!sters") and giving them the final spot in the draw.

I don´t believe Ictimai TV came up with a "fake casting" all of a sudden - these pics of the 5 artists performing in front of jury members must have been shot a bit earlier (?) - What´s the point of inviting 5 acts without "ranking their songs"?

Maybe the head of delegation prefers Mamagama but they still let other shortlisted perform to be 100% sure/still give them a chance?

Orrrr they just couldn't get arsed buying Swedish/Dutch songs, because they already know they're sending Mamagama. Nonetheless still a big step for :az: xclap
