Stay
The story barely started
Can't you
Stay
Do you really want no part of this
Oh so sweet
Reverie
You back off slowly through the door
You always go and blame the weather
The weather

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

And I'm numb, numb
Numb, numb

Wait
I need some time to fix this can't you wait ?
We can't afford to miss this
You back off slowly through the door
You always go and blame the weather
The weather

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

And I'm numb, numb
Numb, numb

We're living in a memory
The present is the price I pay
Fade to black
Fade to black

It hurts so fast
When love goes bad
Until at last
We fade to black

The winner of the Voice Azerbaijan 2021 (Səs Azərbaycan) is Nadir Rustamli. He might represent us in the upcoming years. Here are some Eurovision song covers by Nadir:

In the final of the Voice she sang Plavalaguna’s song from the 5th Element. That was a good performance when she started with Destiny’s Child’s Survivor and then moved into another song.

Wow! I´m really surprised she chose "Love Is Blind" to perform! I was so happy when Lithuania got announced as a qualifier in Baku!
Only Bulgaria was missing to make a great Grand Final even more perfect!

Nadir is a very handsome guy... Wow. Azerbaijani guys are really good looking.

However, I have seen Eldar in one of the clips. Dear Lord, does he have some health problems??? He looks so skinny.

The announcement was made during a morning show on Ictimai TV. He was asked a question “Who will represent Azerbaijan at ESC this year?” with four possible answers including his own name (as in the Millionaire show). This was a cool suprise for Nadir. You could feel his emotions 🥰

Lol, that's another way to do a national selection, let's make all selections "Who wants to be a millionaire"-style

But will they now find a song for him, record it and prepare for Eurovision? Seems a bit rushed?

I agree. There is no much time left.

Today I came across to an article saying that there were about 300 submissions to ITV and that six of them are shortlisted for Nadir.

In addition to that, Isa Melikov told that our song will be announced in the second week of March.

I have faith in Azerbaijan because - even though there´s not much time left - they always come up with well-produced entries.
Although Azerbaijan currently is my favourite country in Eurovision, I don´t believe that this "procedure" might be the best way to determine an entry. We definitely were able to notice that when Aisel got selected. "X My Heart" is a bop and I absolutely adore it and it´s part of my Top 10 that year but the song itself didn´t really suit her well - I wish she can come back someday... but on her terms.

When it comes to Nadir, he seems to be a good singer and kudos to him for performing so many Eurovision entries at "The Voice of Azerbaijan" - He really seems to be a fan? - If that´s the case, I´ll be really happy for him to experience Eurovision as a participant this year.

That said, I´m not 100% sold on the tone of his voice yet.

Wow his english was... maybe the worst I've heard by an azeri representative in a long time? Hopefully he'll rehearse enough for May... His tone isn't my fave either but I'll wait for the song before I'll judge if it annoys me or not.

It will be alright until mid-March when we hear his song.

Dilara, Efendi, Farid, Sabina haven´t been able to understand/speak English well/at all during their Eurovision participations either - I even doubt it that they understood what they were singing about in their songs BUT in the end, the final "product" was really great, imo.

My biggest issue is that he really can't convey emotions. His Arcade cover was just lifeless. And when he gets a song in english, it could be really difficult for him.
I fully agree with you.
Hopefully, he will get an up-tempo song with some Azerbaijani elements or something as "generic but current" like "Truth" by Chingiz (I agree that the Mugham singing part was exceptionally brilliant and lift the whole song to another level).

Nadir was in Eldar‘s team in the Voice of Azerbaijan. I believe the initiative to sing Eurovision songs was coming mostly from Eldar.
