I'd second the idea of a comeback too, as long as they literally write a song FOR her. Showcase that voice and aim for something more ambitious musically-speaking than a talent show runner-up's debut song.

Her uncle is very talented jazz musician and he is close friend of our family. He told me that Aisel is very unhappy that she had participated in Eurovision, and she is disappointed with her performance. She even doesn't want to hear anything else about Eurovision and wants to forget about it as soon as possible.

She was always far from Eurovision because she likes jazz and composes her own music which different from the song she performed at Eurovision.

They should have let her sing her own stuff. Forcing artists into genres they not genuinely feel well in often creates a mediocre outcome. Though X my heart still is one of my favorite azeri entries.

If I were her, I'd feel the same tbh. Especially as an artist (not an interchangeable singer), you want to showcase your own artistic identity in the best way possible.

When representatives aren't given a say in the song selection, there is potential for frustration. Unfortunately, Ictimai missed the mark by trusting Kontopoulos this time around. Either they should have given her a tailor-made song for her to shine (or let her write her own song), or select "X My Heart" as the 2018 Azeri entry and look for a more fitting and pop-y singer.

I still wonder what became of the ballad with half the lyrics in Azeri that was rumoured to be in contention for selection.
