when i said we got to promote our tradition i meant in 2012 a lot of people came to baku, saw our traditions, learned a lot about us...and in 2012 we promoted our traditions by interval acts which i think was pretty good...i didn't mean Sabina's song...

I'm very glad to hear that....but you've got to admit most people think of us as i mentioned...i've seen some videos on youtube recorded in london...young generation knows almost nothing and older people think we're very close to russians as a nation))...and of course nothing gives any right to no country to cheat...

I'm sorry i think i couldn't explain it well...what i meant was...for couple of years we bought songs that had great chances to win the contest...and then when we won we tried to promote our traditions when we hosted the contest...and people seemed to like it)...so our population does NOT want our country to be well known by promoting ourselves with Swedish products.)))...we just wanted to get your attention by those songs and then promote...and this all are just my opinions...i don't know what they think in ITV...i hope this time i explained it clearly

If I had enough money I'd come to Baku for ESC that year! I'd really like to visit Azerbaijan one day!
Our singer Zeljko Joksimovic who was representative of Serbia in Baku said on tv here he was really surprised how good ppl were there and how nice is Baku!!
My friend from Bosnia attended ESC in Baku and he told me it was GREAT!

Is she implying that since they have already proven their success with songs imported from Europe, she would prefer that they focus less on the "winning format" and more on showing national culture? That would be a surprising answer.

Anyway I see all your comments and this that I understand ,(correct me if I had understand wrong),is that Azerbaijan sends foreign composers to improve that they are Azeri...
I know you in may know better but is this a way to show it? I mean with this you most show that you are ?Swidish? and less Azeri..
In my opnion you should send something YOURS to show who are you.Not tranditional but something from your composers and lyricists...and maybe you will not do very well but it all will remember AZERBAIJAN and not Sweden or Greece

you know actually i don't think we're concerned about the fact that our esc songs were written by foreign composers....i personally didn't think that would be a big issue for europe...obviously we don't see those 3 minutes at stage as right time to promote something....and there's one more thing which is not well known by a lot of people....every year after selecting our singer ITV anounces that all the composers can send songs from all over the world...and they choose to one that fits the singer best...in 2008 i think our song was written by Govhar Hasanzade, Zahra Badalbeyli
