Re: AZERBAIJAN 2012

Russia took from the USA? When? Because in 2011 it was RedOne who is Swedish/Moroccan producer or you mean 2008?

Yeap RedOne .. IMO the song not enough to win. Singer has to feel and sell it So it is 50/50. Don't worry this time you will see Azeri song ;)

Re: AZERBAIJAN 2012

according to some rumors the song will be /is composed by V. Gerayzade and it will be bilingual (Azeri/English) - they are just rumors but I hope it is true.

So it will be composed by a Georgian? Well atleast it's in the same region!

Nice to hear that it will atleast be partly in Azeri.

So steps in the right direction...

What did this person compose in the past? any examples?

OK, but RedOne is not American though and Russia 2011 had a full Swedish team behind it, similar to Azerbaijan 2009-2011. RedOne's contributions to ESC so far has been mediocre (Russia 2011, MF 2011).

I hope it will be Azeri! :) (but not as in 2008 though).

Well, actually 2008 was an Azeri composition, but I can understand people try to forget that one, I do aswell

But I hope for something real Azeri sounding this time around. Doesn't matter if it's uptempo or ballad, as long as we will finally hear "Azerbaijan" in this and that it will be a work of atleast some Azeris.

Of course 2008 was beginning. Then 2009 -2011 were experience period and thanks Swedish team who prepared us. Finally, we already reached our target and yes now it is time show our music culture to the world.

Do you also claims the same from Malta, Georgia, Denmark, Latvia, Switzerlands and many others? Those countries also send entries which have nothing to do with their traditional music.

But they're not hosting Eurovision this year, that's his point

People have been bashing Azerbaijan over and over even before it won ESC. Let me know if there is a rule that a hosting country must come up with something traditional? Btw was a German entry of 2011 showing national traditions and official language of Germany? How many people were complaining about that? You see...

I am fine with any song written by any songwriter if the lyrics are in Azeri language

People are making fun of her, because she completely changed/forgot/mixed up the lyrics.

zade is Azeri, dze is Gergian suffix. for example Aysel Teymurzade represented us in 2009.
Gerayzade usually writes jazz. Not sure that the song will be composed by him. but I believe that the song will be bilingual.

Actually in this case it's not about being traditional sounding or not (although I would prefer it) but atleast sending something made by locals... I mean afterall you're hosting right?

As for the others, I would claim the same in similar cases.

Although the other way round doesn't break any EBU rules but ok, if you insist on that, let's discuss it after we pick up our entry ok? Until that time any complaints are senseless

I know it doesn't break the rules, but it undermines the whole Eurovision concept of representing the different countries though.

Well, I wasn't complaining though, I was just writing my personal request that's all.
