Amen, I guess
You said that it's time for us to put
Our love to rest
Dressed in black, you left my neighborhood

No, I never thought you'd bury me and you
No, I never thought we'd die

But amen, amen
Tell me, is this what you wanted?
Is this what you wanted?
Amen, amen
Tell me, is this what you wanted?
Is this what you wanted?
Amen

I bet it's just another funeral to you
But for me it's the end
A marching band are playing gone too soon

No, I never thought you'd bury me and you
No, I never thought we'd die

But amen, amen
Tell me, is this what you wanted?
Is this what you wanted?
Amen, amen
Tell me, is this what you wanted?
Is this what you wanted?

'Cause it all feels like you didn't even try
Oh try, oh try, try to save us
All this time wasted on a lie

But amen, amen
Tell me, is this what you wanted?
Tell me, is this what you wanted?
Amen, amen, yeah
Are you getting what you wanted?
Are you getting what you wanted?
Amen

very true. we could suggest that they look for a partner perhaps?
They once had a good relationship with Universal. They made a lot of money together in the early 2000s.

I kinda liked Alive last year, some part made me want to dance. It was a decent song, but far from outstanding.
This ? I just think it's bland and pretty uninspired sorry. Competent enough to give it a 3 but not much.

I am fine with the fact that record labels have not much to say in the preselection. It's our contest, not theirs. Otherwise we would have never got Conchita to Eurovision with her entry but Shine 2.0. They buy in to radio stations to be played all day, which makes me sick. Eurovision is so much more diverse and creative than pop radio, so I couldn't care less about uncreative covers.

Well, this really sounds like an UK X-Factor winner single somehow.... I wouldn't call it generic though, it really has got some character! I think the song fits to Bueno very well. It doesn't fit into my personal tase but hey, I guess it's a solid entry for Eurovision? I'm not completely sure about the genre change, I also didn't mind Alive in the end but I think Amen is a safe jury entry. This will probably end like Nathan Trent in 2017 - Top 5 Jury result in the semi final, around 100 points at best from the juries in the final and 0-20 points from the televoters... :ROFLMAO:

:7: points for now. 6 points for the decent effort + 1 point for :at:

Oh, yeah. That's true. Universal rejected when ORF asked to cooperate by "Rise like a phoenix".

I rather listen to Eurovision 2015 all day than 3 hours to Ö3. Ö3 is not representative of our taste, it is just what record labels shove down our throats and into our ears for money.

That is what Ireland and UK are sleeping on. They send mediocre radio songs instead of something genuine. So they set themselves up to fail and then bash Eurovision as a joke.

I don't know if anyone here is getting this but the song is somehow giving me Truman Show vibes.... Concerning the beat and the mood of the song.

I think this time the jury votes and televotes could be fairly the same. save in the final and then somewhere in the middle.

Until the last chorus I kinda like this song, his voice sounds really good and I also like the rhythm. But then the fial chorus appears on the horizon, and then it goes really downhill, it sounds a lot like a talent show winning title, and with the choir starting it starts to get very cheesy and off puting for me. (n)

Since the last chorus ruins the song for me, I can give :at: just :5:.

I was super nervous about Vincent's song. Last year, "Alive" being not a disaster was among the bigger surprises of the year, so lightning striking twice and Vincent delivering something solid seemed very much in doubt. Better than solid seemed out of the question. Imagine my surprise when the absolutely beautiful beginning of the song came on. It was fully looking at 10/12. Unfortunately, it pretty thoroughly threw away its momentum once that chorus hit. The chorus sounds like something that would accompany commercials for the season finale of a hospital procedural and wrecks the song's momentum. Still, the memory of that gorgeous first verse lingers, and that's good enough for :6: points. Miraculously, that's the same amount I gave "Alive." Consider disaster twice averted, Austria.

The chorus really is dramatic. I could imagine it in a series finale after the main character died, lost everything or at someone's funeral.

It's certainly not a bop, not shallow nor light, so I guess that explains some of the hate it receives, but that also make me consider it a threat in Semifinal 2. I prefer fierce opposition rather than a lukewarm reception.
