This will be a dark horse for sure but it was a surprise to me the number of dislikes it has on Youtube and im wondering if people really dislike this or most of these dislikes come from disappointed Austrians! Its growing in me too and i upgraded it to 7 points!

Against the song there is an enormous headwind in Austria. I have no proof, but many social media commentary remind me of the diction of the Hyäne Fischer fanbase. Some are chilling.
For instance at the ORF debate forum site, there are almost none positive postings. The hate there against ORF, Eurovision and the artist surprised me.
I understand the disappointment but people should know that one country cannot be contender for the win every year. The song is not that bad actually to deserve that much hate and when people from other countries see all this hate may get discouraged to vote it. However i can see this qualifying with no problems.

Yes, there's quite some hate coming from Austria, but I don't think this explains the dislikes on YT. I think Paenda's just really polarising for having a song that's so far from the usual ballads in Eurovision. This makes it stand out though and maybe (hopefully) all the hate will make those, who actually DO like it, vote for it.

Some facts, I remember:
-> The video is a oneshot and took 4 takes until it was done.
-> She teared up during each of the takes and it was never acted but sincere emotion.
-> She "promised" an emotional performance (obviously)
-> She never wanted to be just a singer and made sure that the ORF let her bring her song and her vision to the ESC.
And lots of stuff we already know about her (she's a teacher for singing, her second album drops in april, she doesn't expect anything regarding results but just wants to be happy with her performance, ...)

The media reaction is positive. It's the stuff that anonymous people post under the articles in the commentary sections that are negative.

The song needs to take multiple listens to appreciate the merits. It is slowly growing on me, but not fast enough. It is sitting comfortably in my top 20 of this year's entries.
I just hope the staging will help to bring in the "wow" factor.

of course this could lead to a non qualification. but we knew that we would get a risky entry before we listened to the song. this year i am just very confident with that entry. i think Austria sends a great artist. like last year with Cesar I love Paendas personality. she is a great person, her song is very intimate and i love everything about it. for me it does not matter which place Austria will end up this year. 2018 and 2019 Austria sends the most remarkable entries in my opinion.
