I'm basing it off the fact that Loin d'ici is the sort of song that juries will go for, it's very pretty, sweet and is also a ballad.
My first point was the fact that :at: doesn't do well with the televoters when it sends songs like these. 2014 was an obvious exception since the hearts of Europe were with Conchita, and 2012 doesn't really matter since it was quite a poor song anyway.

I guess we just have completely different opinions on this one.

BTW, Loin d'ici is definitely not a ballad.

I think that if you don't think that there are no patterns whatsover when it comes to jury voting, then you might want to take a look back in recent history. There certainly are patterns and the same goes for televote, it is okay to state the obvious. I am not claiming that I know what's going to happen but I can definitely use history and previous results to form an opinion and make a prediction. I don't think dismissing my view by saying I'm upset that the jury allegedly killed one of my favorites, is fair. So basing my decision on what I know and observed over the last few years, the Austrian song does not scream Jury favorite to me. And trust me, I'm hope I'm wrong but that's part of the fun when it comes to Eurovision: Use the data you have at hand and predict the outcome.

I do not see this patterns as clearly as you seem to do, so, for me that is not "the obvious". But maybe you are right and I should go through all the data in detail..

My statement about the generalization wasn't directed specifically at your post, while writing I thought of several posts in the past where people seemed to know exactly what juries in general think just because their favorite didn't qualify. But rereading my post know gives a wrong impression - sorry for that.

But what I do stick to is your comment on the Austrian jury this year. They were not representative for a general jury taste (whatever this may be) because they wre only four and though they were very critical in their judging of all the songs (surprisingly direct at times) Zoe was among the top five. They praised the song and the singing qualities, the only thing they criticized was the staging which was the reason she didn't get even a better place from them. But the staging has already changed. And a 4th place is hardly "killimg" an entry.

i think this year austria will do better with televoters than with the juries. this is a song for the esc crowd, not so much for the music business. nevertheless i think she will do pretty well with juries and televoters in italy, germany, switzerland, spain and france in case she reaches the final.

Video from the farewell party. One of her best performances in terms of acting.

The guy in the audience who constantly sings completely out of tune all the time is just hilarious and adorable.

I recently realized that I love this song! Not only she's very cute but her voice, the lyrics and the melody are all great! I'll probably vote for her too in semi final one.

Clip from the stand-in rehearsal.
https://eurovisionireland.net/2016/04/30/austria-eurovision-rehearsal-rehearsal-zoe/

From what is visible, it's the background of the official video and the treadmill.
The treadmill has been confirmed by Zoe weeks ago, but I was hoping they would do another backdrop.... I'm not so sure after her presentation at "Dancing stars" that this backdrop really works. And she also said, that there was work to be done on this matter....
But perhaps that was just provisional for the moment....

It looks like they will just recreate the music video. I was hoping for something better.

To be honest, me too. But I'm still hoping. I mean the experience from the dancing stars performance must have triggered something with her team.

Why would she do that?

Tbh I'm annoyed when all the male singers use all the gimmicks to stand out, while the female singers drop them. It makes them look like being inferior, and of course I don't want them to be perceived like that.

At the farewell party she did such a nice, cute and natural performance. Really capturing! When she's walking on the treadmill this gives the song something stressed. It isn't that an impressive gimmick, I'm not sure if it really adds a lot to the song... Also there are parts in the video, where she isn't moving and this creates a nice structure of the performance. Wouldn't be possible with a treadmill either... I'm really excited about her first rehearsal....
