Shes independent now too, not signed to Sony. It's the right time for her to do it as she doesn't really get hits anymore, but would she do it still I don't know 😂

Yes I'm friendly with Anthony from DNA, Wings was going to be her entry and she had the full support of Sony. But she changed her mind at the last minute, and Anthony had to get Dami's entry ready in like less than 10 days lol. That sounds like a long time but a little more than a week to write, produce, and master a winning Eurovision song is a tall ask. Lol.

She even had a minor hit back in 2003 in :de::

Can still remember this song being played on the radio back in the day, it´s still a nice song if you ask me. :)

I remember buying her album because of that song. And Neighbours of course (way back when it was good).

Wings was released in July 2015. But yeah, pity though that she didn’t go in the end

Didn’t know that about Dami’s song. Interesting to hear. Then a very good entry for being done in like 10 days lol. The same thing happened with Guy Sebastian, but that was done in like 48 hours

I might have got my dates wrong lol. Wings was supposed to be her entry for 2015, she was the first choice for 2015 and 2016.

Australia: SBS In Discussions with the EBU on Eurovision Participation

Eurovision is a cherished part of the SBS family. Australia’s future participation in the song contest is currently in discussion. We understand Eurovision fans are eager for an update and appreciate their patience as we work through these next steps. We’ll confirm details as soon as we are able.

No decision has been made so far! Oo

That's more then I expected from SBS to confirm they're in discussions. I'll take it! 😂

I also believe it's a good sign - at least, it seems that they would like to prolong their participation and still care about the contest (unlike what a few fans predicted)

Funding wouldnt be an issue if the Australian government wasn't wasting 75 million on a referendum thats destined for failure

Breaking news about Australia!

They're... still in talks, it seems. Maybe the reason why the list of participating countries is stuck somewhere nowadays. >> LINK <<
It is said:

SBS will also screen the Eurovision Song Contest from Malmo, but is still in negotiations around Australia competing.

An SBS spokesperson told TV Tonight, “Eurovision is a cherished part of the SBS family, our intention is for Australia to remain in the competition and we are currently in discussions. We’ll confirm details as soon as we are able.”

That's probably the best statement yet. At least they've finally confirmed we intend to keep competing. If it's coming down to the participation fee just give in EBU! Lol.

It's so strange the broadcasters like Australia, North Macedonia are still not sure whether to participate or not.

Given the current situation with so many conflicts around Europe, I can totally see the eBU announcing the participants early December (like they did a decade ago).
