Ah, here we go! Honestly, as prog rock goes, this isn't really that special or original, but I just love this sound. I could never give this anything other than a :12:. The vocal melody is sticking to my head, and I looooove that instrumental!
Am I gonna get crucified, doxxed and publicly shamed like Cersei Lannister if I call this IMP on heavy drugs?
Honestly - you're not wrong. I actually had that thought myself while watching it for the first time. And yet... I still love it xmetal

I get Minus One flashbacks (Not nevessarily because of the song, more like the vibes I am getting), I guess they’ll do similarly in the contest.

Actually not bad at all tbh. There is some elements I like, and others i dislike. I think it's better than IMP, although I get the comparisons being made. The staging potential for this is big though and I expect Australia will do quite a good job at it. Other than that growl that happens nothing massively offends me with this at all, a competent entry and an improvement on Sheldon Riley by a mile imo. Imma give a :6: for now

A :10: from me, I really liked this song, it is a great mix of synth-pop and metal, but I'm unsure if it will work on eurovision, it is, by far, a better song than Bulgaria last year but I have my doubts if the eurofans that voted for Blind Channel, AWS or Hatari will vote for it and without the jury vote to support Australia in the semis it is unsure if they will make it to the final.

Alright I just heard the song, and I consume a lot of rock music. The song is fine I guess, I like the instrumentals but the overall song isn't infectuous. :4:

The song started quite promising, but didn´t confirm that during the 3 minutes... and a bit too soft for wanting to be a rock song, so 6 points so far from me

I feel like the cat who got the cream this evening. I wanted Voyager for Australia and now we've got them, and it's well deserved after what happened in last year's NF *shudders*. This is the kind of Australia I always wanted to see at the contest. I can't believe it's taken us nine years to get something like this from you. Better late than never though.

Promise isn't as special as Dreamer. Can't beat around the bush there. Dreamer had the potential to become my favourite Eurovision entry ever, I was THAT enthralled by it. It's kind of unfair to make Promise which in its own right is a really good song compete with the holy grail, so I won't do that. In many ways their entry for 2023 is just as vibrant and dynamic as the band's previous attempt, so effortlessly combining metal and synthwave. Daniel Estrin is an absolute delight and it's exciting to hear his vocals bounce between those shimmering synths. He's a dangerously seductive frontman and I just love him.

I could honestly do without the cheesy guitar solo at the end of the song (my one minor gripe I guess) but aside from (and even with) that it's a fabulous three minutes. I'm already getting excited thinking about the live performance.

Quite an easy :12: points. For me this is the first great entry of the year. I'm not expecting many more so it's a very much appreciated offering. Thank you Australia xheart

Well as much as I enjoyed Dreamer I have to admit that Promise is definitely the weaker song. This song doesn't go anywhere unfortunately. It's such a pity that they will compete with this and not Dreamer. :4: points from me for now.

Interesting start and then comes the disappointing chorus. The rest of the song ist very predictable and as soon as it ends nothing really stays in my mind. xthink

I give :au: a :5:, it´s okay but nothing groundbreaking for me. xshrug

Ok so the SBS reporting about this and a quote from head of entertainment, and blink tv partner? What the hell is going on at SBS, do we even have an official delegation anymore? Lol.

Slavko Kalesic fronting Intelligent Music Project with a bit of Blind Channel.

Seriously, this is actually really, really good. It's about time Australia sends rock, and they didn't go for anything overly predictable. I love how Australia keeps sending a completely different type of act every year. Potential for this is great, great, maybe not winning but a very strong top 5 finish is in reach.

I think this song is gonna grow on a lot of Eurofans and eventually become a favorite. A suitably epic staging like AWS and Blind Channel could make this absolutely hair-raising live. I hope they don't go for the "high-tech", blinky look of the video, it's cold, distracting and overused in ESC for some reason. They have so much energy in performance, let that come through.

As a primarily rock fan, this doesn't quite work for me :-/ It never sets on a direction... It's too mellow while promising to go full blast. And that chorus is a big let down. I give it a :5: for now.

I like it based on first impressions. I think I remember liking Dreamer from last years national final so it's not too surprising to me that I also like Promise.

I'll give it a :7: right now.

I´m deliriously happy that @RainyWoods finally got some :12: to throw at an entry!!

Voyager is a lovely surprise! They should have represented :au: last year because "Dreamer" was more competitive and stronger than "Promise", imo.

That said, I like the synths and the 2nd part of the song (marked by the growl) is divine.. The guitar solo and the final chorus are really energetic but when it comes to the verses and the "oh oh" parts in the first half of the song, I´m really bored (can´t explain why).
On paper, I should love this entry but I can´t get into it as much as I would love to.

It´s a :7: from me for now.
