I'm in two minds. It's not a bad song by any means. But I was expecting a bigger artist, this whole thing is screaming lower budget. If all the budget cuts rumours are true I feel like SBS could've just released the audio for all the contenders and had people vote online etc don't think this needed an internal selection. This isn't my genre, I am biased as I do like a female pop song etc. But yeah it's not bad.

Am I gonna get crucified, doxxed and publicly shamed like Cersei Lannister if I call this IMP on heavy drugs?

It's a good song though, kinda feels like it would fit in an old-timey video game soundtrack. I can't compare it to Dreamer, because I don't remember it, which might be for the better.

SBS is probably done with Eurovision. I don't think Australia will continue competing under SBS' direction. A richer broadcaster such as the ABC should take over. They served way better songs than SBS in jESC at least

Wow. This is amazing! Honestly, the best entry from Australia so far imo. Not sure if this is a potential winner but it's definitely in my Top 3 together with Czechia and Norway.

:7: for me, this song is not hitting for me like "Dreamer" did and I don't know if I'm confident that they will stage this well enough, to elevate it.

This is still my 3rd place currently, which is very sad. Usually by this time I have songs with better scores in my Top 5. But this year is so dire.

This is fine. The lyrics are utterly cringe-inducing but at least this is an entry with some character to it. This feels like a qualifier but with a middling-low position in the final, but I can see SBS going heavy on the staging for this and lifting it a bit.

People are definitely on to something with the Intelligent Music Project comparisons though, and I'm finding it hard not to see the similarities now that they've said it!

SBS has always been lower budget, I don't think they've ever paid for the acts besides the entry fees etc. Also all the shit going down at Sony Music Australia the last couple of years, I'm not surprised that there was most likely a struggle with this year's entry. I don't think Warner, Universal etc would want to bother with Eurovision to the same extent Song used to when we first started. I really hope this isn't it for us, like you said if they moved to ABC. I feel like even 7 or 9 would snap up Eurovision if given the chance.

I would like it way more without the "oooh" in the chorus I think

Still a nice song, :7:

If this was another country and this song had expensive but quirky staging, and the band had a cooler aesthetic like Måneskin etc I could see this doing decently. But it's us so it's giving qualifier but lower than Sheldon Riley in the finale as we won't have the jury to prop us up.

Yeah what happened at Sony? Both Dami and Jess left them lol. I know they were planning to go for an Univeral artist in 2017 until Sony came up with a better offer. I'm honestly more interested whether Australia will continue to compete at Eurovision or not going forward lol
