What if they didn't? South Korean songs are mostly annoying that I wouldn't bear a single "K-pop group entry"... :?

As Swedish music ?

Sorry that was shady af and I'm in love with Scandipop

I pray that it doesn't look anything like Turkvision: if the hosts bring their A-game technology-wise, it's gonna be a delight to watch. I don't want a poor stage or sound system.

We can compare my hatred towards South Korean music industry to the Swedish one, of course!

OMG, the one and only thing Eurovision Asia will for sure not take from Eurovision is the "6 people maximum allowed on stage" rule  Otherwise, they would have to do without additional dancers or draw straws to eliminate group members

Actually A LOT of pop songs in Korea come from Swedish/Norwegian writers (sometimes re-arranged by koreans), as well as US songs btw but If you don't like that particular sound you won't like kpop for sure.

Hence I told that I wasn't fully ready for the entry from South Korea and not feeling really excited about this one. However, if they went on to compete with a powerful and traditional ballad, thus I won't mind at all. :(

I can't see them with a "traditional" sound, actually it's VERY TRADITIONNAL, it's called "trot" and.. that's something... maybe you'll like it :D

Deep-throat singing? Does this musical genre have a huge link with this way of performing and... well, raising your voice to such an extent that it sounds very loud?

If you turned to provide me a link of any kind of song that's alike what you're talking about, I'd surely love it. Anyway, I have to say that I'm keen on every entry, which feature powerful and unique vocals. For instance, traditional songs from Peru or Mongolia. (You might think of the entry from Jon Henrik at the MF 2017. One of the most beautiful acts ever.)

Actually I think that Jon Henrik's song was swedish pop music with two ethnics stuff in it, Like Shakira-esque stuff from her debuts, I'd say ethnical pop/world pop. But it's not really authentic if you know what I Mean (that doesn't mean it's bad, but it's not traditionnal, just another kind of pop music).

I searched a little for a Trot song and the most "actual" one I found was this one.

I wish they decided to take part at the EASC with this kind of song. xlove

As for :ph:'s participation I think it may be postponed for now given the current tremendous situation in our country (Marawi siege and war on drugs). But I'm still looking forward to our debut, maybe as a Czech/Albanian (underdog) equivalent? :D

Or maybe the Philippine equivalent of Robin Bengtsson, James Reid:

I prefer ::sg because the ticket is cheap
Also, I plan to visit singapore next year so it would be a great If I can also watch the show live.

The other options are just too expensive for me :') esp Sydney

*expressed interest or have been approached.
We still don't know the date or the venue so by the time the contest comes the list might be completely different.

Where India, Cambodia and Thailand at? IOTAP

If we take into account the full list of ABU members, it equals to roughly 44-45 countries like in Europe :) Hopefully, there'll be at least 10 participants for the first edition.

It's interesting to note that Chinese autonomous regions could take part separately xthink

Hopefully WWIII won't be started by North Korea coming last with 0 points in Eurovision Asia.
