This strikes me as a song which takes time to get used to. Reserving judgement until I've heard it a few times as I just don't know yet! :) I think it's promising, but how much so, well I've to wait and see!

I think the intro AND ESPECIALLY the last minute is the best part of the song. When the armenian flutes (I think they are?) comes along it really brings me goosebumps, they are leading me back to the end of the song. Actually likes this more and more for each listening, this is a song (and especially, a preformance I think) to look for in may. :D

I disagree with people calling this song messy and unfinished. Perhaps unconventional would be a better description for this song, and that is mostly for the way the song is set up.

This is a nice solid entry, imo. It pushes the envelope in terms of how a song "should" sound like. In that sense, it's very bold and creative. I'd be interested to see what kind of staging they have in mind.

Changed my 10 to 12. Multiple listens really help.

This is so strange  But I really like it!! The first minute was a bit confusing to me, actually the whole song was. But I like it!! (not enjoying her voice that much tbh) Wouldn't say this is a strong contender, but I think a top 15 result is very likely :) And I'm so happy it doesn't sound like any standard song. Happy to have this song at Eurovision. And I'm excited to see how it will look like on stage :) Also I looove the Pku (I think that's the name of that folk instrument?)

Loving how divisive this song is proving as we need these kind of entries.

I don't get why are bookmakers betting on it when you know that Latvia and 5+ countries are very better than Armenia this year.
I try to figure this situation out, but that's a bit difficult.

Having listened to both songs many times now, I can safely say I prefer Armenia's song to Latvia's.

ESC 2016 : Where experimenting is the new black.

At least they tried and just for that, that's very nice. The song is quite good but so forgiveable. That's quite strange that many of us have to listen multiple times to get it while the usual esc viewer will hear it once... maybe two times? My family watch the contest every year, they'll never miss it but they never look after the semi-finals so for them it'll be one and only one listening of that song if it goes through the final. Being a "grower" in ESC is not very efficient.

Amazing song! xheat

I wanna comment more about this song: it's the third innovative, daring and original song of ESC 2016, after Ukraine and Norway. It stands out a lot among all the other basic pop songs.

Most of people who televotes aren't even fans (it represents an amount of 0.1%) of this contest, and what? This isn't a grower, this isn't amazing, this isn't even what I call a song.
Yeah, some of us try to prevent this song from receiving many criticisms, and that's true that her song needs some listening in order to be kinda enjoyable, listenable at least.

I just spoke to him: likes a lot of the elements but thinks it's ruined by the "ooooooo" in the chorus and also anticipates a wreck (though perhaps an entertaining one) live.

What is that? :?

Again a so-called "modern" and "edgy" song which is nothing but a big mess in my opinion! It's even a bigger mess than "Cool Me Down"! xfacepalm 2 points from me for... ??...

Ok, I have tried to gather my thoughts now after some listenings.

1. I like the ethnic instruments in it, even though it sounds messy I understand their ambition. It sounds too much and too little at the same time. There is too little bass and too much treble sound effects which makes it sound empty.

2. Her voice sounds strained, sometimes it sounds good but I fear that the live performance will be painful if she's straining her voice so much. And is it just me that think of Mariam Kakhelishvili that sang Mari Dari in JESC 2010? Their voices sound exactly the same from 2:38 for example, and that's a shame because I loved Mari Dari but felt that her voice destroyed the whole performance.

3. No doubt that they will stage something amazing if you base their level of ambition on the music video. It will probably improve Armenia's chances in the final, because this will definetly qualify. I think they could fight for a top 10-placing, but not for the win which I was hoping :(

4. The overall impression is despite the negative first impression quite positive. I think this song will grow on me, but not at the moment because I have a huge headache and the song is not helping very much

EDIT: Forgot one thing! Is it just me that can't hear what she's singing?

The spoken part and the massive suspense before the chorus are a bit silly, but once it gets into the actual song... I actually love it. There is a lot going on, but she rides it and ties it together.

I doubt it's going to be a mess live, either. I'm guessing she has it down.

Experimenting has always been a part of ESC.

Anyway, LoveWave is a beautiful, dark pop song yet it feels loud at times. I'm not sure Iveta can sing it without any flaws, however i'm sure this will look great on stage. Also thanks Armenia for showing that composers from your own country can create contemporary songs unlike that neighbour of yours  I'll give it 10, no, wait, 12 because that guy in the video was hot as a summer day in my hometown.
