Armenia likely wins the televoting in Belgium, Netherlands, France, Georgia, Greece and maybe Russia.

They failed last year with :ru: :ua: and :md: which are more reliable IMO.

failed to qualify? no, they qualified. last time all ex-ussr except Moldova qualified, so it was hard to vote for them, still :az: got points with weak song (not that weak as russia was, but russia is always more popular)

I was hoping Czech Republic would be in the semi with 16 countries but I suppose they are in the weaker semi so maybe there's still a chance. Too bad about first half though.

I don't imagine ORF will purposely sabotage them with a bad place, considering it was probably them who was pushing them to return.

This is how I think the draw was for each country:

SEMI 1
Greece: negative
FYR Macedonia: neutral/positive
Estonia: neutral/negative
The Netherlands: neutral/positive
Moldova: very positive

Finland: negative
Belgium: quite positive
Armenia: very positive
Serbia: positive

Denmark: negative
Belarus: very positive
Romania: very positive
Russia: positive
Albania: quite positive
Georgia: positive

Hungary: neutral

SEMI 2
Norway: positive
Ireland: positive
Czech Republic: neutral/positive
Lithuania: quite positive
San Marino: neutral/positive
Malta: quite positive

Portugal: very negative
Montenegro: neutral
Switzerland: positive
Azerbaijan: very negative
Slovenia: neutral
Latvia: very positive
Poland: very positive
Iceland: quite positive
Israel: positive

Cyprus: neutral/negative
Sweden: quite positive

Well, it seems I'm optimistic today since I see more lucky countries than possible qualifiers

In the end, except for Russia and Armenia (and maybe Romania) anyone can easily flop if they don't have a strong enough song and nobody should have big problems to qualify with a great song (maybe Portugal would, but it's still not impossible).

But it was thanks to the juries. This is about televoting and Azerbaijan would've stayed in the semi with this system even if these countries were voting in their semi.

Are you hinting that viewers in France will all televote for Belgium and Netherlands, thereby giving them top marks, and that Belgium and Netherlands (Benelux partners) will give each other 12 points in Semi-Final 1?

I don't think France will give points to The Netherlands other than on the song's own merit, but they might give a little extra to Belgium. And The Netherlands and Belgium always vote for each other, so I'm quite positive on that one! Still needs to have a good song, but having The Netherlands is already good!

Really? My first reaction after seeing the full draw was "Elhaida's [expletive]d."

Well, I consider it's quite positive because they are with :mk: (their best voting friend), :gr: (their second voting friend) and :at: which could help too + they are drawn in the second half. This looks better scenario for Albania than semi-2.

But it's true despite having some friends the first semi looks much harder at the moment and we all know Albanian song is not so strong. We'll see.

I'll take you to task on "Albanian song is not so strong," but fair enough.

It's interesting to not that the Big 5+1 allocation hasn't changed from last year: :fr::es: and the host country voting in SF1, :de::it::uk: voting in SF2
