Hej, a i kujton ato netë?
Mbetën vetëm sekret
Hej, a i kujton ato netë?
Mbetën vetëm sekret
Hej, a i kujton ato netë?
Mbetën vetëm sekret

Ej, ej, ej, ej, ej, ej, ej

Po vjen djali nga malet
Dhe tek unë sot do falet
Nuk e di a do ndalet
Hajde t'i, hajde t'i falim mëkatet
Për këtë vajzën do vije
Dhe krejt botën ta lije
Unë jam diell nuk jam hije
Ti i je i imi, djalë prej Shqipërie

Hej, a i kujton ato netë?
Mbetën vetëm sekret
Baby shija jote, shijes sime
Peng i ka mbet
Hej, a i kujton ato netë?
Nuk janë më një sekret
Por unë nuk e di, nuk e di
Si kam me u ndi

Nuk e di, si për tjetrën m'ke lon
Edhe sot un po du me ta thon
Edhe një, edhe ty
Nje, dy, tre, ta marrsha
Ta marrsha, ta marrsha
Ta marrsha, ta marrsha
Ta marrsha, ta marrsha
Ta marrsha, ta marrsha

Ma ke bo jetën si lojna, avion
Ma ka lon, ma ka lon
Nuk du nji tjetër, se pishmon
Ma ka lon, ma ka lon

Hej, a i kujton ato netë?
Mbetën vetëm sekret
Baby shija jote, shijes sime
Peng i ka mbet
Hej, a i kujton ato netë?
Nuk janë më një sekret
Por unë nuk e di, nuk e di
Si kam me u ndi

Nuk e di, si për tjetrën m'ke lon
Edhe sot un po du me ta thon
Edhe një, edhe ty
Një, dy, tre, ta marrsha
Ta marrsha, ta marrsha
Ta marrsha, ta marrsha

If you're confused with the song, the structure of the song IMO is as follows:
  • Opening line : those choirs
  • INTRO: the long ass instrumental and chant and heheheheheheh
  • VERSE 1: "go!"
  • PRECHORUS: "Hey, I'll never regret..."
  • CHORUS: The talk rap
  • DANCE BREAK 1
  • VERSE 2: that short "ma kallon (?)" section
  • PRECHORUS
  • CHORUS + the HEEEEE adlib (basically works as a bridge too)
  • DANCE BREAK 2
  • ENDING : "ma kadal he" etc.
P.S. if you're confused with the structure of this song, please have a seat and listen to the confusion hell that is NMIXX's "O.O":

Is it me or does the revamp sucked the energy out of the song? Instead of being anthemic, it's now sort of muted? There are some parts of the song that sound weirdly muffled.

May need to listen to it again. As of now, not sure what to think. I don't think it improves the song but I feel it makes it less grand. Not sure if that's a good thing to be honest.

They’ve totally neutered it.
As “messy” as the original was, it was like a powerful punch when that chorus kicked in. Now it is like a limp slap.
They went overboard and made it all sound too homogeneous so no part really stands out.
Also the intro butchered as sadly expected.
The fact Ronela has been so defensive about it already before the revamp was even released tells me she isn’t fully convinced herself by it.

On a positive note, I do kind of enjoy the campy music video.
But I have to downgrade my 12 to a still generous 8. Maybe this version will grow more on me.

"Sekret" is confusing, they say? Not until they see whatever mix-up song K-pop has birthed us -- The producers are basically smoking hemp creating those! xqueenbitch

This is why Ronela rocks!

The video was hilarious.

The revamp DOES sound weirdly muffled.

I think it's still gonna be epic in the semi final, despite the revamp making it less powerful.

I’m sold.
The people who downgrade wouldn’t vote for this anyway.
Ronela made a smart move, focusing on her target audience and pleasing the loyal supporters.
Upgrading from :12: to :12: , from 2nd to 1st place
Looking forward to her first live performance in the Romanian NF tomorrow xpray

For me it is all about the song if a song is better in english or in their native language. I feel Albania is one of those songs that would need at least an english chorus, just to make it more powerful. Two songs this year who doesn't need it probably is Ukraine or Italy, which would probably wouldn't stand out at all if they were in english. Imagine also if Latvia were in Latvian, noone would understand what the heck was going on and all the puns in it would be totally lost. Then they are those songs that doesn't even matter what language they sing on...sort of is Netherlands that, but in particular Slovenia would probably still be pretty much the same in English as in Slovenian. So I guess it is my own preference, people are of course allowed to think what they like. I am just upset that every year we have this discussion and that the english language is seen as "evil" when it is just an another way to express their emotion. Let the artists do what they want, it only makes Eurovision better to have that freedom of choice.

It's not about English being "evil", but this eager by some to have everything translated into English and seriously the arguments don't work tbh, it's rather sad that this is what the contest turned into xshrug

Really disappointed. I had great hopes for this and thought it would be in my top 10, now it won't. I thought the revamp would fix some of the problems with the first version, but instead it's even weirder. The structure makes no sense at all, and there's so little actual singing from her, i don't get why, she has such a great voice and the parts when she sings high are the best parts of the original song, of course. Sorry, Albania proves they're the master of ruining great songs, once again...

The revamp DOES sound weirdly muffled.

Here's a breakdown of what I find different between the two versions. I'll refer to the FiK version as V1, and the Eurovision version as V2:
  1. The pre-chorus -- V2 didn't have the hitting snares of V1, it made it lack something in the 'higher' frequency. The sub-bass only makes it more noticeable. It does compensate with some added kicks and a riser.
  2. The chorus -- the kick in V1 is made with a big drum while V2 has a more electronic bass kick -- which sounds less 'ethnic'. The transition also changed from a series of kicks + gong in V1 to a more subtle tom-like one in V2.
  3. The dance break -- V2 actually used snares in a higher frequency than V1 + a more electronic kick in V2. The lead is also changed from a more traditional wind instrument (V1) to a faux, electronic version of it (V2). The 'ta marrsha' chant is also subtler in V2.
  4. Verse 2 -- V2 lacks the plucking instrument that V1 is opened with. There are kicks added in V2 and the lead used is one octave lower than what V1 has. The kicks in V1 are also more similar to hand percussion. The transition changed from a gong-like sound (V1) to a pause and something similar to the pre-chorus transition (V2)
  5. Prechorus 2 -- V2 has virtually similar pre-choruses to each other. V1 has a choir on it.
  6. Chorus 2 -- V2 has a subtler bass drop + riser (that bass drop in V1 is very loud). They added a low-frequency filter and some panning on the talk-rap in V2. The lead is one octave lower in V2. The kicks in V1 were much louder whereas in V2 it was subtler and more centered.
  7. That part before the dance break -- the ethnic woodwind is retained, but one octave lower + layered with a slight trance effect on V2. The "Hey!" was much more prominent in V2.
  8. Dance break 2 -- The same as the first dance break, but the riser does make it smoother to open the break in V2. There are some 'whoop' sounds added in V2.
  9. Ending -- The crash/ride in V1 is nowhere to be found, and the lead is the faux one + one octave lower. The closing kick is subtler in V2. The song also fades a bit in its very ending in V2.
In conclusion, I think the revamp didn't sound as muffled as people thought. Yes, there are parts that are brought to a lower frequency/lowered in volume, but there are also other elements that are added/given more balance/prominence. However, it does sound less ethnic, which unfortunately is what Eurofans are often suckers for.

When it comes to Albania I'm never happy with the revamped version. This one however is ok, could've been worse. I didn't even realize it's mostly in English at first fbawkfa. Keeping my 12 xheya

At least she still retained some of the Albanian. We can still direct our sadness to the Nordics, however.
