:al: and :lt: are fighting for the 37th place in my ranking... I just find it hard to like them

I really want to like :al: and sometimes when I listen I quite like it but others I just really do not want to listen to it

Do you know maybe how old is Aida who represented Albania in 2007 with Frederik Ndoci! And he, how old is he?

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but does Hersi sound like Shakira?? :?

Yes, apparently people are saying that left and right about the revamp. It's incredible how much clearer and more flexible her voice sounded in the version she performed at FiK. I think the main reason is because it was just a more natural style for her.

I just remembered that once last year, I said that she reminded me of Sopho Khalvashi (compliment, she is unequivocally my favorite Sopho.) Hersi is more technical, but her voice sounds similarly bright and aggressive sometimes. I kind of forgot that I had said that, because it's not as apparent as it was in her previous FiK entry.

I still think she cannot sing

Cannot sing?.Hersi is probably the best singer at ESC this year.People can question changing the song to english, the staging and anything else but nobody can question her singing ability.Shes an incredible singer.Thats what they need to focus the staging on if they have any hope of getting to the final.Herci has the ability to inject massive emotion into her songs and thats what the viewer needs to see here.
Camera on her all the time, smoke, lovely black dress and her injecting the song and image with emotion and gravitas.

I think Hersi's english is very good in general. You can tell from all the interviews that she's an incredibly fluent english speaker. It's just that she sings with a rather stylised, peculiar diction (as some singers do) which a lot of people won't be fond of. It's makes parts of the song difficult to understand, the fast pace of the song doesn't help matters either. It personally doesn't bother me though.

Her english is much better than say.. Cristina, TEO and Sebalter who all sing with incredibly strong accents unintentionally.

What about Armenia and Azerbaijan? I don't think I understand much of their English lol

Yeah, I was actually going to list all the countries that have worse english but didn't have the energy:lol:

This year Switzerland, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, San Marino, Romania, Macedonia, Slovenia.. even Greece all have stronger, more noticeable accents.

Hersi just has a very distinctive style of singing and people assume she has bad english as her words sort of swirl around in an unusual manner whilst singing.

I can't focus on what Azerbaijan is about anyway, Dilara's accent is di-licious. xheat

Hersi's English isn't difficult to understand at all in interviews. I agree that her unusual diction is more because of the style she's singing in than her accent itself. And similarly, I haven't gotten upset about the lack of an Albanian version because I think the direction that they chose to revamp the song is so awkward and unflattering that the language would hardly improve anything now...

On a lighter note, though, my friend went to EIC and he reported that Hersi is very tiny and cute and she wears little doll shoes!
