At least the first NF line-up this year.
Already curious to listen to some of the "new names"

Rezarta Smaja has me very excited. "Ti" was the song I was rooting for last year in the festival. She ranked very high in the final so i'm hoping she can win it this year providing that her song is good. I liked "Ti" but I think something even better could come from her.

She was one of my favorites too, as well as Hersi Matmuja (who came 3rd). I'm excited to hear both of their new songs.

I'm really hoping that Venera Lumani has a good voice and a powerful song, after she won The Voice of Albania !!

Happy about Lynx to!

If Blerina enters something like this, then I'm rooting for her 100%:

However, the main issue with FiK is how out of touch and pretentiously dated it is and that they've yet to open up for the contemporary Albanian music scene. Aurela Gace is a good example, she had a great hit the year prior FiK with Origjinale, but what we got in FiK was a tuneless, boring and über-pretentious attempt at "rock".

Well A-Lister, you'll never get a hit like that one above from FIK, that sort of music is supposed to be kind of turbo-folk meant for the unlearned and the unsophisticated, not modern and not good for the music critics. What happens though, is that in Albania right now there are other mucis festivals which are so much better than FIK. Just now, for example there was Kenga Magjike, and all main composers actually go to that one and the quality of the songs is so much better than FIK. Example, this song I'm going to put now, which would be such a good representative, had it been in FIK it would have been ruined by the orchestra and of course, would it get a prize?!

I hate that attitude that somehow you'd be "unsophisticated and uneducated" if you like that, and if you like pretentious dated music (like most of FiK is) then somehow you would be more "sophisticated". To me that's just pure bullsh*t.

Obviously Kenga would be a better selection method for Albania, FiK is living in another decade.... and if the FiK officials would say that the Albanian entries of 2009-2011, 2013 would be somehow "sophisticated" I'd just laugh at them. But yeah, I know that FiK always closed their doors to modern and actual contemporary Albanian music (unfortunately).

I thought Albania 2009 to 2011 were great entries especially "Carry Me In Your Dreams and "It's All About You" which were wonderful pop songs. I love FiK. It might be different to all the other selections but thats what sets it apart. It's special and it's clear a lot of work goes into it. It might be "dated" but it's a dated in the best kind of way. When music actually felt sincere and human as opposed to plastic. If only ESC allowed live music. I hope Albania carry on selecting their entrant from Fik.. and what other country would have selected Rona? None which is why FiK needs to stayxyes

Do you remember Kenga Ime ? Before she changed it to pretentious attempt at rock with "Feel the passion"? That song was interesting, mysterious, climatic. It was all in the language and arrangement of the song. It's on Aurela she changed it and translated it, yes - song lost A LOT. I loved it and then after... just liked. But the original version on FiK was not boring, pretentious or generic :(

Last year Bojken, Hersi, Adrian&Bledar at FiK were very interesting IMO.

Yes, but what you don't understand is that nobody in Albania actually listens to the songs of FiK, they're not representatives of what actually goes around, it is as if it exists for itself. This is what everybody complains about, their songs do not become popular and we feel lots of good music goes lost in the process.....

But you're right, no one but Fik could have chosen Rona - that song is lost to us though, not very many people liked it in the first place, it's the most unusual of songs accompanied by excellent singing, but that still is not enough for us to be contented. We'd rather send one of our hits, something which really represents us and what we listen to everyday.

This thread is looking mysteriously still... :?
Isn't it today that my favourite eurovision country starts selecting their entry?

Finally! xheart

Anyone got alternative source for stream? It doesn't want to play for me (buffering endlessly). Strange because past 2 years I was watching FiK through TVSH stream and everything worked just fine :(

And so it seems that this will be no proper semi final like one's used to with eliminations and stuff, but a live song presentation of the first half of the songs. I didn't know. Very original!, if a tad less exciting...
