let me cancel my prediction for a sliver medal..I expected a women's team event at ski jumping.. guess not

it sucks that Ilka Štuhec is injured...Last seson she was fantastic!
and btw, Tina Maze gave birth to a baby girl a few days ago..

FIGURE SKATING EXPLAINED - TEAM COMPETITION:

This year is the second time the team competition in figure skating is taking place. Each team sends one representative in each of the four disciplines to participate in the short and long programs - a country might choose one person/pair for the short and another for the long while another might select one for both. They skate their programs and are scored as usual, the 10 highest scores earn points for their team, awarded almost ESC-style

First high score = 10 points
Second high score = 9 points
Third high score = 8 points

And so on until 10th place which receives 1 point. The top 5 teams with the most points after the short program phase move on to the long program phase

The team that accumulates the highest amount of combined points in all 4 disciplines after the long programs is declared the gold medal winner

I wished Dorothea Wierer and Vanessa Hinz would've joined her. Their races were great actually. Meanwhile I'm happy for Marte Olsbu to win a medal and Veronika Vitkova making the absence of Koukalova less hurting for the czech team is also great tho. Too many athletes for 3 medals

I still put my hope into the japanese girls to stop the dutch dominance in ice skating... I get still nightmares sometimes renembering the Netherlands beat us in medal table in Sotchi only with Ice skating medals. Biggest humiliation I could think of
