Well, you haven't been familiar with what happened with the Danish victory in 1968? I believe. Norway awarded them the victory, it was a scandal actually, while Switzerland should have won the contest.

You say there is cheating here, while everything else about this contest is a pure conspiracy? Interesting!

There is really almost Nazi attitude from the West towards the East and that makes me sick...
Eastern countries are guilty for all bad in Eurovision according those people. But not Bulgaria and Greece excahnged 12 points last night, but Belgium and Netherlands and the Noridcs as well. But that's not problem - let's bash the Eastern countries for all bad in the world.
I agree. There was so much favouritism! You'll see next year will be the same thing. The Nordics will be the "best" like every other year, favourites to win, high in the bookies, etc.

Re: Proof that Azerbaijan cheats in Eurovision voting

People complain about Formula One racing for the same reasons. It's not about the drivers, more about what team is richer and has spent more on the technology of their vehicles.
Who cares about people complaining? Have whoever regulates Formula One racing introduced rules to appease these whiners? No? Then who cares?

It's an underhand way to "advertise". It's not allowed to happen on youtube for a reason.. and frankly I find the whole practice of doing it incredibly pathetic. And if indeed views on a video could be called "advertising", it's false advertising as those are not true views. It's deception.
But it doesn't actually impact the contest, who, again, who cares even if this were true (as you keep pointing out: You have no proof. I have circumstantial evidence showing it's not true: Youtube has yet to strip that video of thousands of views. So either Azerbaijan has come up with a new way to inflate views Youtube doesn't know about or you're full of manure).

If someone used a view bot on this video though, it's extremely pathetic and desperate and just adds to the picture in my mind already..
1) Pathetic and desperate =/= Illegal
2) Someone using a specific method of "cheating" doesn't mean they'll necessarily use another means of "cheating". Even if you can prove that Azerbaijan has botted its way to views on Youtube, it in no way means that it proves they're buying votes.

It's not about success in this case, it's about underhand tactics. Even if these tactics had no effect on their outcome in Eurovision. It's underhand, it's not right. It's a very sad, sad little practice.
You're just desperate to pin anything on Azerbaijan. All you have is random speculation without a shred of evidence vs. actual circumstantial evidence disproving you. "I can't prove they're buying votes, but I sure can imply they're inflating Youtube views! Azerbaijan is obviously up to... something! Cheap! Underhanded! Desperate! Sad!". You're like a propaganda machine, trying to make something they don't like look bad by any desperate means possible.

It doesn't matter that the accusation you in no way are capable of proving has zero actual impact on the contest, you'll harp on this minute point 'til it does damage, any kind of damage, on Azerbaijan's image.

Well this is something I really have different views on to you. As fans of the Eurovision contest for many years, I think I and the many other complaining about this, have a right to complain about this.
You're part of the Old Guard. What you like and what you want to see in the contest no longer meshes with what the majority of viewers want to see and listen to. Is it fair to you, who may or may not have been following this contest for several decades? Perhaps not.

But things change, contests evolve. What once used to work no longer works. The competing countries are adapting to the world, giving the audience what it wants. Supply and demand.

Maybe this contest just isn't for me anymore?
Quite possibly. And I say this without malice:
If you don't like what the contest has become, stop watching. Hundreds of millions quite obviously like the contest as it is. The majority isn't always right, but in the case of an entertainment show that is just a huge talent competition based on popularity, the majority wields the power.

Now the contest seems to be heading in a plain, western direction. Countries with money are importing their songs rather than making them themselves. I just think it's a terrible practice and lack of warmth, soul in these entries really shows. Something very cold and plastic about them.
Then maybe you should move on.

Now that bit I bolded there is quite offensive. Why would I lie? I don't lie either, EVER i'll have you know. You can go back through this topic as well and see others also mentioning the constant advertisements or liking the comment I made regarding it.
Funny, it's offensive for me to state that you are doing one of three things, one of them being lying (which means that I'm not accusing you of lying, I'm saying that there are three possibilities, either of which can be true and if either is true, the other are false), yet you can accuse Azerbaijan is cheating because... a video on Youtube has "too many views" and it's perfectly alright.

You know, you are right though about banning of one thing leading on to others. Once you start with one thing, people will then call for something else to be not allowed. It would be nice if the contest was a completely fair playing field but that will never will be.
When it comes to advertising, it is completely fair. Whoever wants to and can advertise the most can. That is fair. Again, calling richer countries being able to advertise more than poorer countries unfair is like calling sending internationally famous artists unfair.

There will always be favouritism, diaspora, richer countries etc.
One of these is not like the other.

This contest probably isn't for me anymore. At least I shouldn't take the results seriously (I suppose I never have anyway). Music shouldn't be somethings thats marked and rated.
And yet you're still here, trying to dictate how the contest should be run, complaining about money playing too big a part in his contest. Spotify, iTunes, Youtube. Excellent sources for ethnic music and indie music.

And actually indeed, woe are the smaller countries who make such an effort and can't reach the finals.
Yes, poor Malta. The'll never even come close to winning this contest. Oh wait...!

Woe are the countries who make the effort and send a wonderful, energetic piece of culture and instead get shafted (as usual) for countries buying songs from Sweden. Woe really is them.. and I feel terribly sorry for them. It's unfair.
The majority doesn't want what you're peddling. Deal with it and move on.

True, it's not going to damage anyone in the grand scheme of things. It's going to damage your reputation though and make you look like a bit of a (no pun intended) d**k.
Unlike you, I couldn't care less about reputations. I judge things and people on what they are, what they do, not what other people think of them. I happen to think Azerbaijan's sent in really good entries and that diaspora voting, spam voting and bloc voting aside, they kinda deserve how well they've done in the contest.

This year, I wanted them to win (because my real favourite, Ukraine, had so-so staging and it was obvious Azerbaijan was the only country capable of giving Denmark a run for its money, and I also loved Azerbaijan's staging). Last year, I was all "Meh". The year before that, I loved their entry. The year before that, I was all "What's with this drip dropping?". The two years before that, I loved their entries. So I don't care if people think they're cheating, even if I've joked about how they'll never fail to qualify (because of diaspora voting and bloc voting, not cheating).

So have at it. People are free to view me as a ****, as long as they also judge me on what I actually post. I don't judge others on how they debate but how well they debate.

And I can't believe I just spent an age replying to all that. Please go easy on me next time. My fingers hurtxnaughty
You basically gave us nothing new. A whole lot of words with little substance. "Azerbaijan are bad guys because they might be doing something which, in some way, can be viewed as immoral, guys! Totally bad guys here! Also, etno etno etno!".

And the Azerbaijan entry wasn't?
Are you kidding? :) Then the whole music industry is plagiarism cause that is not something you can find out only in two notes  By and large my intention is not to accuse Denmark, it was kind of an adequate answer to some haters here
