I think it's a lot harder to judge this year because the change in the voting will probably mess with our predictions. I wouldn't be that surprised if we saw totally bizarre results at Malmo this year.

It's for that reason I'm wary about being too conservative.

Romania is the most obvious out of all of them but I think Azerbaijan and Russia could be in trouble if they get a bad position (stuck between two other ballads for example) Ukraine and Greece are the two I think should have no problems getting through. So I decided to vote for :ro: , :az: and :ru:.

You should remember that the juries gave Russia a very poor score a few years ago causing them to qualify in 9th place. If the same happened again I think the new voting system would mean they wouldn't be in the top ten. Just something to munch on.

I'd also like to see Ukraine out of the final from this list...

You've got a good point there but I don't think the juries will be as merciless with "What if". Azerbaijan on the other hand.........But as you said, it's a whole lot more difficult to predict which is a lot more fun though.

Well my reasoning there is that there's a lot of ballads in the contest this year. So simply being a ballad isn't enough to get support from the juries. (besides we've seen in the past that juries don't necessarily just support ballads)

It would be less a case of them being merciless and more likely that they just enjoyed other songs more. A lot of the more understated countries have stepped it up this year. (Netherlands, Belarus, San Marino)

It' would probably be much less a case of them being merciless and more just that they saw something they liked more.

Right, I'm not saying that because it's a ballad it has an advantage. It's more like this kind of ballad just doesn't scream last place by juries. Though I'd be totally cool with Russia tanking this year.

:ro: Romania is the most close to lose in semi-final for first time. At least, this is my opinion. Also Greece can have problems with advancing to final.

Greece's song is outrageously catchy, I can't see how it would stay in the semis.

I see them all qualifying... :ro: is the most risky one but with a good draw, it should qualify plus, they've got great support in televoting xshrug

I agree with Terence above, all them will more than likely qualify. On paper Romania look risky, possibly Greece but I think they'll all make it through.

They all will qualify

I agree. Of course Romania is in the biggest jeopardy, but i think it will qualify, afterall.
About Azerbaijan, even though i'm not going gaga over this song, i can suspect another top-10 finish in the final.

imo romania will qualify
they have good televote support and there will defenitly be juries that like opera music that can vote for cezar
as for the rest, all will go trough
so for me they will all qualify

I think (and hope) that Romania will be out. I can't stand that song.
The other four will pass to the final with ease.
