WOW #46 in the UK

I can't tell you how many times I've read British posters saying no one in the country gives a damn and there is zero interest

....its a sleeper hit

Yes, everyone seems to say we should withdraw, its all politically, waste of tax payers money blah blah blah. Then it gets the best viewing figures in years. It's the ultimate guilty pleasure for the UK, everyone watches it and loves it, no one admits to it. Molly got to 23 in the charts last year. The common Linnets I think almost got the top 10, and their album did quite well.

That's true but I honestly wasn't expecting it to do that well.

I was expecting more like Englebert and Bonnie. I didn't think it would crack the top 50 at all

They're talking about ESC on the main television evening news. xheat This never happens

(of course the clip they showed in the opening credits was Sweden's song).

Quite a surprisingly good news segment on the contest, on mention of the typical stereotypes we have of it here (apart from the russian grannies).

yes. He was doing the commentating over the whole thing and then he was on camera talking from the arena during the second semi final jury rehearsal in the area where the people are standing near the stage.

I notice the Eurovision is getting quite a bit of news coverage today here in the United Kingdom. Both BBC and Sky are reporting on it :)

ITV talked quite a bit about it yesterday and they did this morning as well.

We are now charting in Czech Republic at 71. :D which is the highest any country is charting there, except for their own entry.
