Sad to hear about "Kvitka" (they should have checked the rules before adding it to the mix creating false hopes for fans!), that would have been such a great entry, one of the best Ukrainian entries in years for sure and a contender for some very good position in Lisbon (if the anti-EURO-juries started to act more open-minded that is).
I hope whatever new entry she'll come up with will be just as good, I just hope they won´t switch to English now, that would be such a loss. Hope they will come up with another Ukrainian ethno-Pop stomper! Whatever they do, it surely must be better than the dreadful banal "I Love You" from last year which was just one out of million similar soulless ESC ballads with forced nonsense English lyrics.

Jamala: Different lyrics but a similar music structure to 1944, closed concert for Crimean Tatars in a small venue, the private video had been viewed only by few hundreds people until ESC and it surfaced to public only after the contest.
Tayanna: She performed Kvitka (note-in-note) on a big fest broadcast by the TV channel. + She uploaded amateur video to her instagram (openly) and it had been viewed by few thousands people there.
Because it received like 10% in the public voting.
We should be thankful that she didn't choose that awful cliché ballad Syla.
Not gonna say for the others but I'm gonna compare this situation to Jamalahow did kvitka broke the 1st september rule?

I don't get the idea: oh. I want to participate and I have a couple of songs from my album that are okay. Let people choose it.
Should it not be: I have a great song which I wrote/recorded specially for Eurovision?
And now she surely is recording something else... Don't get her approach.

She's been clearly promoting her album all this time. And now when Kvinta openly said that everything from that album sucks she decided to write a different song.

I like that one, but I think it wouldn't do well in the ESC format, it doesn't have mass-appeal and needs to grow on you.
I hope a new entry in a somewhat similar fashion (not a B-version rip-off though) to "Kvitka" would be a good solution, I need an Ukrainain ethno-Pop booty-stomper!!!

^ Definitely didn't expect that from him Thankfully it's not a ballad. But it's still crap. Miles better than Wonder though.
I definitely don't mind us being represented by openly gay songwriter and a closeted gay singer but not with this song.

It's safe to say that Anastasia Kamenskih & Vremya i steklo will skip the NF. They're in Miami w/ Potap visiting her relatives, recording the new music and music videos.
