I don't get the projector replacing the LEDs at all. I mean from what we're seeing from Ola Melzig's blog, surely the projector is just going to do the same job as the LEDs, that is, putting up a nice background image behind the song. Why replace one with the other?

I would say, why saying there will be no LEDs to amateurs like us?
Will there be a big background where images change? Yes.
That's what we need to know, this "no LEDs" was misleading, as if there will be no background image at all.
LEDs, projectors, rat's ass, dingadong, we don't care how you call it, give us a big ass image on da background

I guess 'cause it's cheaper. But I'm not an expert in this field, so I might be wrong.

Such great artists as Bonnie Tyler and Natalie Horler(:de:) will have to perform on this tiny stage.
Pretty sure it'll be one of the smallest stages they've performed on.
SHAME!

Omg that stage is tiny. I thought the Swedes would put on an amazing show but it screams low budget:(

I dont have any problems with the scene, really.
I am sure I will have a swell time! And I am sure that so will everybody else watchin the shows; both on tv and live in the Arena.

You're kidding right?

(a) It doesn't look that small. At the very least, it looks bigger than Helsinki.
(b) Neither of these acts play 10,000 seat arenas on a weekly basis.

Hmm not so sure. Anyway, I loved the Helsinki stage, even though it was a bit too small, it was very good-looking. Let's see if this one looks good on the tv or not.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm serious. -.-'

a. I think the stage in Helsinki looked much better than this. Moreover, the budget to host it was way too low back then. It had always gone up and up from 2007 on(with the exception of Oslo 2010), while in 2013 it decreased by half!

b. I was talking about the stage rather than the arena but I can't say I'm pleased with it either.
These artists, in open air concerts, at the very least quadrouple it. Performing in front of 10k mustn't be that exciting for them.
Do you think the so-called "greatest TV event in Europe" deserves 10.000 seats, in SWEDEN(the country with the greatest music scene in Europe along with the UK)? I do NOT.

EscTurkey you are just rude, if you watch Istanbul 2004 i think that the arena is really small too. They chose Malmö Arena so they can't make the stage that big but its not about the stage, its the music. I think the stage looks amazing in some way as it looks really modern. Don't you remember guys that they wanted this year to be a little smaller, just look at Melodifestivalen. It sure has a great stage (its not big but its not too small) but they make the program fantastic and in 2013 every semi-final was watched by 3.5 million people (and it lives 9 million in Sweden) and i think the final was watched by 4.2 or something like that.

Oh, and by the way you think this is a shame for the artists? Please, i think that some Eurovision artists are just desperate. 100 million people watches Eurovision Song Contest every year and do you think for an example Ezma & Lorenzo would have sold out an full arena like that? Or Bonnie Tyler (because she is soooooooooo popular these days) or Valentina Monetta?

If it was about the music then it would be on the radio, The show is important, and the stage is too small for that this level of show IMHO. I'm not saying it'll ruin the whole thing, but It's a shame.

Look at Loreens performance in 2012, all she had was some lightning, snow and a special floor, she did not use the LED (well, just a bit but not only for seconds). Her number was low-tech and you focused on the song and on Loreen, not on the stage. She won with 372 points and got 12 points from 18 countrys beating Alexander Rybaks record in getting 12 points.

I'm sorry if I sounded rude, I'm just a bit too outspoken.
Why bring up Istanbul 2004 all of a sudden? Do you think I would defend the show in 2004 just because I'm Turkish? I also dislike the stage we had in 2004.
Just because music is more important than the stage doesn't mean we will have nothing to say about it. Music is more important than the voting, so we'll just skip the voting part and turn off the tv and go to sleep?
The big stage was NOT such a big problem in 2009, 2011, 2012 and Melodifestivalen 2013 final, but it is when it comes to ESC 2013?

I disagree, the best stages ever were 1971, 1981, 1988, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1997 :p

i mean 2005 was one of the best years by songs, and i don't care what stage was (it was so-so and the smaller)

What makes me quite angry is that the budget is only 1/4 of what it was last year..
