I have to say when watching the video my first reaction was that I didn't like it but I changed my mind when seeing the pictures. On the pictures the stage looks really awesome.
It's good to have confirmation for the green room location. In the video, the empty space in front of the stage made it look awkward and deserted but when you fill up that space with people, like in the pictures, it looks much better. The venue is also much better than in Vienna. The Stadthalle in Vienna was built in the 50s, its ceiling is rather low and it looked small because there were no seats behind the green room. In Stockholm, there aren't any of these problems, so the venue should look much larger on TV.
They kept the tradition seemingly established after 2010 to have square stage designs in the even years and circular stages in the uneven years, so we have a welcome change after last year's round design.
It looks like there is a large LED background and floor. Hopefully we will really get LEDs and not just a larger projection surface than in 2013.
Assuming it's LEDs, it looks really very promising. I wonder if the stage can play any special tricks that aren't obvious from these renderings, comparable to the last two years, when it turned out the stages could do more than we thought at first.
So far I think Copenhagen had the best stage and Vienna had one of the best stages as well. This looks like it will be one of the best stages too. Since 2009, only the stages in 2010 and 2013 looked really bad and cheap. It seems, SVT averted another disaster.
It's good to see that they have plastic elements in the front in this stage design as well and that it's not just a flat background. Since the ceiling is much higher in Stockholm than in Vienna, it's possible to make it all much larger. Last year's stage was limited by the low ceiling. The way it is done now, looks like they took last year's eye, made it rectangular, higher and opened it up on the sides and on top.
So I have high expectations now.
