A very good choice from SVT! Petra did a great job in 2013. Carrying the whole show alone on stage was quite impressing! Måns is a good host as well, and he is not a stranger to hosting. I think they will make a GREAT team!

Petra was a horrible arrogant host in 2013 and Mans is just a boring cardboard guy. Put the Snob and the Simple together with a dire script written by Edward af Sillén and we're going to have another dull show in Stockholm in the new year. Here's hoping at least the songs are good enough to outshine the otherwise terrible 3 nights

I can understand you didn't like her in 2013, and that you may think she's horrible at hosting, but why do you think she was arrogant?

He is just missing the old glory days of Ireland hosting the contest every year. Be sympathetic. xrose

I will try.

No, seriously, I am just curious why some people think that Petra was arrogant (because anto475 is not the first person I see using this word). Not funny, horrible, boring, etc. ok, I could understand it, but why arrogant? It just makes no sense.

Petra likes to play with words, teasing and for example twisting the meaning of a sentence to be ambiguous. She is always a comedienne in public. I think she is simply brilliant but if you don't understand the teasing and take her words literally, I guess she may appear as offensive. To play with words in this manner in a foreign language as English where you're usually not really sure of all the nuances of your words, is impressive. I think she clearly outshined Graham Norton at the BBC Eurovision's Greatest Hits this spring.

I just can't agree more. This is exactly what I think.

Petra is a great choice but i'm not sure about Mans. I'd love to see SDF, and she would balance the coldness of Petra.

Petra and Markolio (Swedish comedian and artist) have made a TV serie for children called

Familjen Rysberg

Loaded with Petra style humour I think it's funny and enjoyable to watch even for grown-ups like myself

Hopefully they bring her back too. She was just hilarious as Lynda Woodruff.

Not too fussed one way or another about Petra and Mans - I remember at least thinking Petra's hosting in 2013 was decent (which is probably a step above most Eurovision hosts ). More importantly: we need to see Lynda Woodruff again!

I'm pretty sure Lynda Woodruff will appear again. After all, she's a SVT exclusive invention specifically in a Melodifestivalen/Eurovision context. I think the only reason Lynda will disappear would be if Sarah feels uncomfortable with Lynda being more famous than herself, that is Lynda overshadows her own artistry. Sarah is a pretty serious artist and it is all about singing. She hasn't developed the acting/comedienne side a bit except just for Lynda and that is a pretty limited prospect. I think if Sarah decide to broaden her artistry to include acting, Lynda will have to go.

She came across as incredibly up herself!! The whole three nights it seemed like she was talking down to the audience and as if we were watching "The Petra Mede Show feat. 39 European musical acts". She thinks so much of herself, or at least that's how I feel.

It seems you just don't like her style. The way she acted was meant to be funny and entertaining. I suppose you would be happier with a host who acts more welcoming and cordial. The hosts who do that also put on an act, of course, just a different one.

Well yeah, it's a host's job to be warm and welcoming, not to leave a cold and distant impression like some ice queen. Renars Kaupers and Marie Naumova, Mikko Leppilampi and Jaana Pelkonen, and Eric Solbakken and Haddy N'Djie were perfect examples of hosts that engaged the audience, both in the arena and at home, and made them feel like they were part of the show too. Petra tried too hard to take a lot of the limelight which wasn't fair. A good host blends into the background and recognises that their role isn't the most important, something Petra failed to do in Malmo

I've never been a big Petra Mede fan, but I enjoyed both her 2013 hosting and her 60th Anniversary hosting. Probably much thanks to Edward af Sillén's hilarious script and direction. Petra's exaggerated English pronunciation/enunciation is a bit annoying, but I can live with it. Måns did a good job hosting Allsång på Skansen, so I'm sure he'll be fine.

I wonder how these two will look together on camera.
I mean... we all know that Mans isn't the tallest person in the world

I thought she was awesome in 2013 but I understand that she's not for everyone.
In her case, it's just a matter of liking her style or disliking it. It's not a matter of ability to host. We have also had incompetent hosts in the past, who were objectively bad. At least that's not the case now.
(Of course, some people will disagree now.)

LOL, not a very unusual "issue" in RL, impossible in Hollywood but this isn't Hollywood :D
(Boy what trouble they have with Tom Cruise)

BTW Måns is 182 cm
