It's ok I guess, it will need some kick-ass staging and good draw to qualify
I'm just hoping for one day for :ch: to send something really unexpected and not predictable and mainstream

Re: SWITZERLAND 2018

that sobrel speech can burn in hell tbh. Music isn't a dreary sleeping pill. Sometimes fireworks are what we need.

I understand what you are saying, but there is nothing wrong with redressing the balance. There was too much fireworks and soulless stuff. Now hopefully it'll be more balanced, not dominated by one or the other.

On the sleeping pill thing, I guess Europe voted last May all to go to sleep? Hell, I voted to go to sleep 20 times.

That speech gets so much hate from a section of ESC fans, so I will absolutely defend it, as it really spoke to me when he was saying it.

Must've been a blue moon this week as we agree on something again!

I do love how butthurt a lot of Eurovision fans (and fanboys) got over that speech, I found it quite refreshing for someone to take a stand against mindless disposable songs that seem to be all the rage in the charts. About time someone stood for the different and unique

The problem I have with Salvador's speech last year was that it made him seem very arrogant, saying that his music was real music and that all the other soulless stuff was not 'real' music. The whole 'music is not fireworks' thing is also an opinion I find irritating. Music can be both feeling and fireworks (such as Lucie and Papa Joci last year)

Of course, I understand that Salvador isn't a native English speaker and his meaning might have been lost in translation. It just came off as a bit off a sour and arrogant ending to what was a good contest

I need to listen to this more, but from what I've heard so far, this was a solid winner from what was otherwise an average NF. It's catchy and has good instrumentation, great production and decent vocals, though the staging is a little stale and I'm hoping for a revamp to make it less repetitive. 6 points for now, I think.

WOW this is really good. I like it very much. I can see her easily qualifying, especially in the 1st semi final.

YAY Finally my favourite wins! It's a very good choice and I hope this time Switzerland can at least qualify. I gave it 8 points :D

It's been MANY years since Switzerland sent something I really enjoyed - back in 2005 with Vanilla Ninja. Since that Switzerland has mostly been in my bottom 10, with only 2 or 3 exceptions. For 3 years in a row now Switzerland has not qualified - deservedly in my opinion! Even though I am not very fond of Stones I must admit it has more potential that the country's last 3 attempts.

I like it a lot! As long as SRG SSR don't distort it like they did with Apollo then it should be fine! Very fresh and modern!

One thing I like about Eurovision is that it makes me listen to music i'd usually avoid like the plague. I heard "Stones" in it's studio version when the songs were revealed weeks ago, and I hated it, possibly more than the other five songs on offer, which I also didn't care for. The song is totally not my thing, but I just watched the live performance.... and.... I... found some kind of enjoyment from it. I really like her stage presence and how spunky she makes the whole thing feel. I love her voice during the chorus. It's so powerful and raspy. She actually rocks. There's so much here musically i'd honestly like to throw into a bonfire to banish from our current musical landscape for good, but damn, I can't lie and say I hate this as there are parts of this I do enjoy. The chorus is great. She's great.

I'm going to give this a 7 in the poll for now, and that's big considering I was coming here expecting to give it 2 or 3. I'm actually impressed. I believe this song will give Switzerland their best shot in years. Semi 1 is going to be very open considering the majority of automatic qualifiers have been lumped together in the second one. "Stones" can fight it's way into the final. Her stage presence and vocals lift this song high.

I guess there's a little bit of potential there, but it needs the mother of all revamps (which I doubt it's going to get). Sort of sounds thin. I'll give it a rather charitable 6 for now.
