I've really been trying to give myself a few days to make sure that my bowling-over love for this entry isn't just me getting swept up in some of the narratives around it from this year's Melodifestivalen, and...

If Serbia, Croatia, Poland, or Slovenia sent this, I'd be like "that's weird, why is the Serbian/Croatian/Polish/Slovenian entry in Swedish with a few words in Finnish?"

(My lawyers at Philips and Philips [my parents are both lawyers and Philips is our family name LAUGH DAMN IT] have urged me to clarify that I don't have a dog in this fight and encourage everyone to feel whatever they want to feel about this and every entry. Except Albania. Zjerm Or Be Zjerminated.)

Is that the good indicator for anything then?

Why would it not be?

The polls here and everywhere else always have vastly different numbers of votes. Usually Fan favorites get more votes (controversial entries often have more votes too.)
Finland for example has 137 votes currently too.
Last year, Baby Lasagna had 221 votes, while Dons had 118. You can see the same phenomen on Eurovisionworld - Armenia had 9312 ratings right now, Sweden has 16053. It's usually a good indicator IMO, meaning a song actually makes people bother to vote lol

Hmmmm...who wrote that these countries would send in Swedish, what a strange comment...
Everybody who want to be honest would say that this entry with the way of singing, accordion, and gimmicks in it looks and sounds more eastern and central European than Sweden in Eurovision in previous 20 years! ;)

But I don't care, if ppl think victory of this is a good thing for Eurovision and music, let it be..I really do not care much...

I don't think this song is a good example if you're trying is disprove his point
well speculations are in principle impossible
to disprove so I didn‘t even try to do that. Instead I was looking for a gentle joke and I think this song does fulfill this purpose well. ;)

I know I’m VERY late with this but SVT really made a shitty, disrespectful joke about Joost‘s disqualification in MF? What the actual f.

Not here but people that claim 'Bara Bada Bastu' would be dismissed as a joke entry if presented by another country dismiss the role of SVT and Melodifestivalen in shaping its reception. KAJ are experienced professionals and in return SVT provided KAJ with a sprinkle of Swedish magic, respect, and the professional platform to showcase their artistic vision, far beyond what another NF could achieve. That alone is enough to make juries respect it.

I guess the full results (the points from each televote group, actual number of votes etc.) hasn't been released yet? Really curious to see it, as i'm sure many are...

I like the song but I think its overrated. I see it in the top 5 but no way this will win. I think the austrian entry has everything that is necessary to win eurovision.

Lol. JJ fans are constantly criticising KAJ.

It's still valid to consider SVT's potential outlook. Given the hosts' lighthearted comments about the financial and political aspects of hosting, there's a possibility that a top-10 finish with a decent televote would be considered a very successful outcome.

This - it's already had an underdog story with a happy ending, by winning Melfest against the odds. Anything after that is a bonus, in my opinion. I do feel it will come top 5 and not win. Even if it doesn't win I think it's still a nice journey

I'm very very late to the party. But of all the fun songs, this is the most fun and authentic one. No formulaic trying hard to be fun here. It's just endearing fun. And I love to say this about Sweden. Love it!
