That is true, but this year, unfortunately, taste of same those hardcore ESC fans matched the taste of the general public, I really thought it wouldn't be like that, because fandom is only 5% of the votes. I think it would be slightly worse than last year, just because of mixed reactions, maybe between 8th and 15th place, at least.

Even blind cuccos can find grain sometime ;)

Yeah, I call it "Frans phenomenon". :D I remember very clearly that fandom hated him to the bits, he was more hated than Benjamin, almost noone liked that song, but on the night of the final, everything changed, general public really loved it, but that song had warm feeling, emotion. I hoped that same phenomenon would be repeated this year, but I understand why it hasn't happened, performance was perfectly polished, but it looked like music video, and unfortunately, it didn't connected with the audience, it was kinda cold, for them. It doesn't mean for me that song or performance are bad, like fandom in general interpretes the whole thing, I just think it lacked emotion, and public either votes for EMOTION or for very upbeat, catchy songs like Cyprus and Israel, and Czech Republic. This song was in the middle, when it comes to that path- emotion-catchiness, explosion...And this year was very competitive and strong, years when Frans and R. Bengtsson competed were very weak, we only had like 5 strong favorites, and the other songs were pretty meh, and this year, it was completely opposite situation. So, in the end, coming 7th in such a strong year is rare success and privilege. And no matter what people say, juries' opinion matters, if it didn't matter, we wouldn't have them here. They have saved many great and quality songs in the previous years, not just Sweden and this one song, but fandom now only sticks to this, because of the reasons counted on the many threads here (your great success on the contest, and stuff like that mentioned...).

You characterized the difference perfectly! That's how I felt. Actually the song of Frans was a lot more simple than Benjamin's, but it felt more warm and connected better. That's why I also liked Frans more. :D But I do understand when people like this year's song more. But I hope that in 2019 Sweden will send a more warmer - or as you said it correctly not so polished - song. Creates more an alive feeling.

Thanks, what can I say- I am an expert for music (just kidding, of course ;), even though I try my best when it comes to music and its analysis, it is great passion of mine)! And you also said it nicely what kind of song they should send next year, xup even though I don't have nothing against polished pop, but it would be nice to see something warmer and simply different from them, Europe needs it. I hope it won't be Robin Bengtsson No.3 next year. :)

Hahahah! "Music is feeling-not fireworks!" LMAO whenever I hear that pretentious and overall annoying quote. xrofl And the worst thing is when I see almost whole fandom copy that quote on daily basis, instead making their own opinon and quotes.

Which is pretty ironic since they was one of our IJ:s in MF final and gave Benjamin :12: there

Hahaha, exactly what I thought instantly, when I read Realest's post. Crazy!

It was a little bit like that last year for Robin B, he got :4: from :cz: and :uk: in the national final and in ESC final he got :7: from :cz: and :8: from :uk:

But remember that two of the IJ back in 2012 gave Loreen only :6: which was :be: and :uk:

Yes, differences are normal thing, because members of the jury are not the same as they were in Melfest, but it was funny to mention :pt: here, because of Salvador's pretentious quote, that became something like official quote of this year's contest.

This is how the 210 Jurymember judged Benjamin:

-Benjamins Averagevoting is 7.81
-He got the most #1s
-147/210 Jurymembers saw Benjamin in the Top10
-95/210 Jurymembers saw Benjamin in the Top5
-The worst Joke is :pt: who ranked him [19,19,21,22,23]
-The best Jury was :de: who ranked him [1,1,1,1,1] Im very proud of my Jury
-Zora Djurovic (:me:) ranked him #25

I think the Televoter should be given some criteria as well, cause those 21 Points doesnt make sense. The Juries evaluated Benjamin much more fair.

What strikes me most is the ranking by Mary Roos. It doesn't quite congruent for what Mary Roos stands for (even with her new approach since South Africa) and what Benjamin Ingrosso performed. But you never know what this celebrities privately really appreciate. Stage persona and person could be very different.

Well, this proves that the Juries voted objective and unbiased when they voted for Benjamin.

The last 2 Months Benjamin (21) did still pretty well on esctracker in the Opposite to the other Popsongs from Denmark (188), Ukraine (119), Lithuania (91), Norway (84), Bulgaria (66), Ireland (62), UK (25) and Finland (23) who beat him in the Televoting and are already forgotten. In the End, the Juries were right, heping him in the Top10. Even 300+ Points wouldnt be undeserved. And all Haters who really think that some Music-Experts from DE/CY/AU/RS/SL/AM/GE/LV etc.. voted for Benjamin because he represents Sweden and not because of the Song, cant be helped anymore.

Benjamin together with Felix.

I love this song so much! xheart Great collaboration between two of them, as beautiful as their friendship. They received the Swedish Rockbjörnen Award tonight, Benjamin in category "Male live artist of the year", and Felix in category "Breakthrough of the Year". Congratulations to them! :D I voted from time to time to help them, too, so I am glad they have got it. :D
