C'mon, he is Just a 20 years old boy. He is still a child. He didn't think about his answers. He did not like some songs and what is wrong with it? And San Marino really had poor budget, that was a fact.

Why so many people hate Sweden every year?

It is just useless. I won't hate someone because he acted like jerk- it is not like I am defending him, I simply don't care, I won't change my mind, I still love the song, and will vote for him. ( SONG contest - not Benjamin's personality contest). Those WHO HATE him, YES, they were just waiting for this, since they hated him from the beginning. And that is all I have to say. And his reactions have to do much with him being 3rd youngest contestant this year, he will learn to behave sooner or later. Like we all haven't said something we shouldn't when we were young so much. Since I want to become psychiatrist, I always am empathetic in my life, from the young age, even for those who are bad behaving sometimes, I can understand people always. I am good at it, and you here can't try to make me look bad/ in love with singer, when I am not, I am just forgiving people, and I find it better, than to hate them. Hatred is not healthy thing, so you all just go on.

"He didn't like some songs" is a very moderate way to put it. We all dislike several songs, even hate some of them, but we'd still find polite ways to say it. Don't say anything at all if you really don't have anything positive to say. Or simply say "not my taste". Easy as that.
Of course San Marino had a poor budget!! We all know it. But pointing it out as a fellow singer? As a Melodifestivalen winner? Does he live in some sort of a bubble? Did he really think every country is hosting a show as big as MF? We're talking about a country as little as San Marino!

And it has nothing to do with people hating Sweden?! Dance You Off is one of the best songs this year. He's even top 10 in the odds.

I mean, it's okay not to throw shade at him, but y'all need to understand he is not the victim here at all. If you're a celebrity, you need to be more aware of what and how and when to say. If he's getting negative backlash right now, then he really deserves it, because it means he will be smarter next time.

I love the song too. I love his stage persona and character. I never hated him, and it's not that easy for me to start hating a person. But I also don't understand why people would say the fans are overreacting. Not you or me of course, but.. Would all his defenders react the same way if an artist made a slightly homophobic comment somewhere? I don't think so. But bullying is bullying. This can't be tolerated, and needs to be stopped. Benjamin deserves the backlash. I'm waiting for his sincere apology.

The worst part is that he's a musician himself. A singer who openly bashes other people's creations doesn't deserve good results imo. :(

Well, aparently, he lives in a bubble, he comes from rich and famous family, and he showed his true self yesterday. He is probably spoiled, but I won't dislike him because of that, because we all have our good sides and bad sides. I KNOW that he must act like public figure, not like we ordinary people, but from the begining I liked him exactly because he is acting like ordinary person always. I like when people are showing their colors, whether they are angels or jerks. I agree, that he shouldn't do it in this way, but there is not much to do now. The damage is just done.

Oh, come on, it was based only on 10 seconds snippets of the songs, and he appreciate more songs, bashed only 4. People are exaggerating. And half of that is taken out of the contest. And outside of the esc bubble noone would know about this, so good result is not questionable, you were happy too soon. I mean, Mans WON after homophobic comments, that is way more worse mistake, this is the gay-friendly festival.

Jesus, they were never colleagues. His brother Oliver went to the same school as him, but that's about the closest relationship they had to him. They haven't even talked to these Swedish DJ's in years. The only person I truly feel bad for here is Alesso - who actually was a colleague of Avicii and has now lost two of his friends.

Now, what's up with the Benjamin-cirklejerk of endlessly liking each other's posts and defending him so profusely? Is he THAT hot? Cause people were saying the same things about Alex with his controversial comments about Portugal last year and I didn't see you all rallying to defend him this quick

Well, you are in love with Mikolas, just look at your avatar. Personally, not that it matters, I find Benjamin way more hotter than Mikolas.  I love sassy, mean and rude boys like this, cheers to that!

I'm not really in their target demographic since I'm not a straight teenage girl or a gay guy... so we can safely conclude that I'm not attracted to neither of them. I just thought it was a great meme

I get you, but it's not like someone making a vaguely homophobic comment in the past is a bigger deal than a person outright ridiculing people. ESC is not only gay-friendly, but is standing for overall goodness and tolerance. Considering how big every slightly homophobic thing is blown, this scandal earns every bit of attention it got. Let's be honest here - Mans being bashed for saying homosexuality is "not wrong but unnatural" was a random overreaction of the fandom. This can't even be compared to Benjamin's offensive jokes aimed at real people he's met and will meet. This is basically bullying.

Glad to see he apologized. I truly hope he actually means it, because it sounds like every other apology letter the celebs release these days. Wish he made a video or something, so that it would be more authentic and emotional. But at least he did it.

Same with me, I am older then both of them, and in real life I usually don't have crush on younger boys then me ( they are immature obviously, look at Benjamin's behavior ), but I can admit that someone is beautiful/hot/cute.  People mistake me often here for his teenage fangirl, I guess, I know it, when I defend him like this, LOL, but this is afr from it.

Well, he didn't really have to apologize, but he did it, and I still think he is good person, you can think what you prefer, basically, there is no way I can change your mind, if you are biased by hatred like whole fandom (and from your comments I clearly see you are, even if you are trying to convince me you are not), and there is no way you will change mine. He was trying way to much to be funny, and those jokes gone wrong. Personally, I find it more wrong to say that homosexuality is not normal, than these teenage stupid jokes about 4 songs.

Yeah, and I find it much worse, than those immature jokes, Benjamin is basically a spoiled teen, too young. LOL, Mans were around 30 years old, how he would explain himself then. :D

It's actually sad you read my posts and identify me as a hater. It's very sad that for standing against bullying this is what we get. Especially considering I love the song and his stage personality. Ridiculous.
If you'll have children one day, keep in mind that you're not an abusive parent for letting your kid know when they are wrong, and give biased arguments for why they are wrong. This is literally what every parent must do. It doesn't mean you're not empathetic or that you hate your children. You just don't ignore the problem simply because you love the person.

Most of the fans start story with I love the song...and then put it on 30. place. That is why I am talking like that, to be fair, I don't know your mind completely. :D I don't ignore the problem , I said he should be more polite and careful, but he apologized, and now people are acusing him that it is not sincerely. I mean, can we just stop with all this drama?! What does he need to do next, to jump off the cliff, to prove to all fandom his honesty?! If he was so mean, he didn't have to say anything about it, just to keep be quiet, until storm ends.

Hahaaha kill him with kindness! The best strike back I could have imagined. Good job, Eye Cue!

It was actually filmed before he threw the shade, because they posted it on the insta story few days before, and now they posted it on Instagram, 1 hour ago. :)

"Crossed the border"

- Criticism is okay, but this crossed the border. Certainly, he is a public person, but he is also only 20 years old, "said William Lee Adams, chief editor of Wiwibloggs, behind the 17-minute video.
The Eurovision site Wiwibloggs has published several videos where artists like their competitors. But only Benjamin Ingrosso has encountered the serious criticism.
William Lee Adams believes it is due to Sweden's success in the contest and the fact that Christer Björkman has also worked for several years as a contest producer for Eurovision.Swedish participants target for criticism
- Sweden's success in Eurovision and the picture that Christer Björkman is the highest hit in the net makes the Swedish participants a target of troll and extreme criticism. I do not think artists from other countries would have received as many offensive comments if they had said similar things, he says.
Adams also wants to point out that Benjamin was also met with positive reactions when the video was published.
"Most people understood that his reactions were meant to be fun. Honest? Yes. Evil? Not at all, he says.
