I love Kuve, Melody & K!ngdom Songs, they are bangers. 🔥
Daniela & Kbello have also awesome. Carla & Lachispa are also very good.
So for me, they are enough good songs to say this is very good selection. I hope Spain make the right choice.

Spain seems to be aiming for the Bottom 5 once again - especially with those dreadful songs by Melody, Mawot, Lucas Bun, Sonia & Selena, DeTeresa and the non-competitive Elite-background noise.

I'm sorry but I never understand Spain in Eurovision - some songs seem genuinely enjoyable and I think it's a better selection of songs than Benidorm 2024 but none of the songs will even remotely end up being Top 15, imo.
VIP sounds trashy but at least a bit more captivating and I could see myself including "La Casa" or "Bésame" or "Amor barato" in my Eurovision Top 300 Playlist but the rest? ...

My ranking so far:

01 David Afonso – Amor barato 7/10
02 Carla Frigo – Bésame 6/10
03 Celine Van Heel – La casa 6/10
04 J Kbello – VIP 5/10
05 Mel Ömana – The Queen 5/10
06 Henry Semler – No lo ves 4/10
07 K!ngdom – Me gustas tú 3/10
08 Kuve – Loca por ti 3/10
09 Chica Sobresalto – Mala feminista 2/10
10 Sonia & Selena – Reinas 1/10
11 Lucas Bun – Te escribo en el cielo 1/10
12 De Teresa – La pena 1/10
13 Lachispa – Hartita de llorar 0/10
14 Mawot – Raggio di sole 0/10
15 Melody – Esa diva 0/10
16 Daniela Blasco – U Na Na 0/10

My choice would be Lachispa or Celine Van Heel. They are different from everyone else and they sound very Spanish or Cuban (with a feel of Spain).
Results-wise ... maybe Carla. Forgettable and nothing new to me, but she's the most cohesive out of the rest of them.

Tumblr, mostly.
Eh, this was not very good. Definitely worse than Eesti Laul and Montesong.

Positive Standouts:

K!ngdom - "Me Gustas Tú" - nothing groundbreaking, but they had a clear beat, an atmosphere, went somewhere. If you think this description implies the rest did not, then well...
DeTeresa - "La Pena" - unhinged theatre kid energy, by a woman who cannot commit to a single stlye (complimentary)
LaChispa - "Hartita de llorar" - was fast on its way towards a slow nothing and then she started SCREAMING and it became *EVERYTHING*.

Everyone else... mid to bad? Melody and Kuve sounded like they were going somewhere but became stagnant, Lucas has an *okay* ballad that doesn't excite me much. Daniela kind of made me laugh with all her stupid tempo shifts xheart

The ones i didn't mention don't matter. All of their songs sound like they were mixed inside a sweatshop. Overproduced, overtuned messes that barely cover up the completely shallow, empty husks of songs. (J Kbello and Carla were the worst two offenders, actually. it always amazes me how you can manage to make uptempo sound BORING, but I suppose that's what musical uncreativity does to one)

Blergh. It's similar to last year, which also had exactly three enjoyable songs (Here to Stay, Zorra and Se Quien Soy). Cannot wait for Daniela to win, and give Spain their deserved 25th place in the Grand Final.

I'm currently listening slow and steady to each of the songs but hey, we could cancel BF as an ESC selection and directly send Lachispa to Basel. What a magnificent piece of art xheart

EDIT: Shame all of the songs are in Spanish and none in any of our co-oficial languages. I'd love to see Basque language debuting next year in BF :)

The level at Benidorm Fest 2025 is much better than in 2023 and 2024, with lots of variety and some great standouts. My five favorites are Chica Sobresalto with Mala feminista, Kingdom with Me gustas tú, Jkbello with VIP, Daniela Blasco with Uh nana, and Kuve with Loca xti. Unlike everyone else, I’m not a huge fan of Lachispa’s Hartita de llorar—it’s catchy, but it just doesn’t land for me (at least not yet).

Ugh, almost all of these songs sound so dreadful. And also very forgetable. And it’s 80-90 percent similar style, similar elements, similar rhythm.

:es: certainly has a lot to offer as a country, like good food and nice landscapes, but they almost never select an Eurovision entry that get‘s me interested in any way. :es: is among my least favourite ESC countries tbh and often my toilet break song. I really don’t want to be disrespectful, I‘m just honest.

:it: constantly delivers very good songs to Eurovision and they try out different styles almost every year! And there are always a couple of songs I like at Sanremo. Why can’t :es: manage to do so? Does :es: only have these cliché pop songs and these Latino/ reggaeton influenced songs? Where are :es: rock/ jazz/ indie/ soul/ EDM… songs???

Seems like I truly don’t understand :es: music or at least let’s say what RTVE is doing at Eurovision…

(:es: fanboys will probably butcher me for my post, telling me that this is the best NF in decades, lol)

You’re just annoying.
Well you could just explain where you see the huge genre/ style variety in this NF instead of being rude… I would actually be interested in getting to know how anyone can really see it like that…

It’s true, there are a few slow songs, but that’s it, talking about variety. The more uptempo songs are all similar and dreadful.

Almost nothing to add. Finally listened to all, but this is worser than the past years. Only ONE song kept me interested:
Lachispa – Hartita de Llorar

Two others songs that are okay:
Celine Van Heel – La casa
Lucas Bun – Te escribo en el cielo

And you described it well:

Does :es: only have these cliché pop songs and these Latino/ reggaeton influenced songs? Where are :es: rock/ jazz/ indie/ soul/ EDM… songs???
I miss those genres ...IOTAP

Alright so now that I've listened to all of them, here my first ranking. I must say I'm overall not impressed with the level this year... I do not see most of these proposals scoring well in ESC, although it is clear RTVE is leaning towards the current radio Spanish music instead of focusing too much on Eurovision:
  1. Lachispa – Hartita de Llorar (10000/10)
  2. Mel Ömana – I’m a Queen (9.5/10)
  3. JKabello – VIP (9.5/10)
  4. DeTeresa – Pena (8/10)
  5. K!ngdom – Me Gustas Tú (8/10)
  6. Chica Sobresalto – Mala Feminista (7.5/10)
  7. Daniela Blasco – Uh Nana (7.5/10)
  8. Celine Van Heel – La Casa (7.5/10)
  9. Melody – Esa Diva (6.5/10)
  10. Carla Frigo – Bésame (5/10)
  11. Mawot – Raggio di Sole (5/10)
  12. Lucas Bun – Te Escribo en el Cielo (4.5/10)
  13. Kuve – Loca Xti (3/10)
  14. Sonia y Selena – Reinas (2/10)
  15. Henry Semler – No lo ves (1/10)
  16. David Afonso – Amor Barato (0/10)
I'd be fine with any of my top 3 winning Benidorm Fest if they're able to bring a powerful staging and nailed vocals. Lachispa would stand out in Basel for sure, while JKabello could bring the urban music touch to ESC that is so well received here in Spain. Mel Ömana has a very interesting composition with both dark and fresh vibe which could be well received actually.

Btw, RTVE, how come all male ballads are so dull? Nearly every year it is exactly the same (except St Pedro last year which was pure magic).

After a second listen to the songs, this would be my first top 16:

1. J Kabello – VIP :12:
2. Chica Sobresalto – Mala Feminista :10:
3. Kuve – Loca Xti :10:
4. K!ngdom – Me Gustas Tú :10:
5. Daniela Blasco – Uh Nana :8:

6. Celine Van Heel – La Casa :8:

7. Henry Semler – No lo ves :6:

8. Lachispa – Hartita de Llorar :6:
9. DeTeresa – Pena :6:
10. Mel Ömana – I’m a Queen :5:

11. Lucas Bun – Te Escribo en el Cielo :5:

12. David Afonso – Amor Barato :4:

13. Carla Frigo – Bésame :2:
14. Melody – Esa Diva :2:
15. Sonia y Selena – Reinas :2:

16. Mawot – Raggio di Sole :1:

As I mentioned, there are some standout tracks here, and ultimately, this is the kind of music we listen to in Spain. In my opinion, the level of music is better than in 2023 and 2024, and I’m looking forward to seeing some of these artists live.

Seems to be quite a lot of negativity here, but having listened to a recap I think i'm gonna like this line up a lot. Some duds in the mix for sure, but i'm impressed more than I have been in previous years. Looking forward to listening to them in full.

I truly enjoyed this pre, much better than last year for me, I cannot believe my top 4 is exactly the same as @Looren and in the same order. Things change a lot at stage though…
But if Spain gets poorly again, it is because you won’t vote for it, songs are quite nice, but we are not Italy xshrug

The same story again.
As the last year. Low quality and lack of real artists.
Who choose this line up?
Did they noticed that the lyrics are mostly trash. Everyone is singing mostly about queens, divas and reinas. Is this a drag show or a song contest?
Did Spain has any other genres of music to offer but that terrible cliché Latin style?
I'm not disappointed since I didn't have high expectations knowing the trend RTE and BF are following.
