I'm not following OT but as I am currently living in Spain I noticed the hype about Amaia in the media. I just watched the video posted here above and honestly... what was so special about that performance? It didn't do anything to me, I have seen people delivering more emotions having a shower at the gym. It seems that Spanish showbiz needs just fresh meat to explote and has created all this fantasy "a star is born".... but, is she really that great? I think that cheesy act was close to mediocre. Perhaps I'm so biased because I have only watched that performance and it happened that I dislike the song she had to sing...with passion.

I agree... Although I love her voice and she seems a very nice person, I don't understand why that performance drove everybody crazy. It was great, but because (to me) the song is great and she did it well. Give a good song to Miriam and she will shine too. The same with Aitana. She's my favourite because I like her style and think her voice is interesting, but I think she needs to improve a lot, she's far from being perfect.

I don't care anymore... Actually, I think it's unfair that Roi was the one who kicked Cepeda out when Raoul and Mireya were much stronger, but okay...
I'm also afraid that Aitana could win the whole thing now, since she will collect all the "Cepeders" votes... :?

And I have to disagree and say Amaia just slayed in the last show. It was perfect and magical. More than 1 million views on Youtube in less than 24 hours is not just a chance...
+ the hype is not only because of that performance, or because she has a very special and beautiful voice, she has a lot of charisma.... etc. It's actually her sensitivity and good taste everytime she does music what made Spain to fall in love with her.
Amaia MUST go to Lisbon. There is no other contestant even close to her. But I have ZERO hopes on the songs TVE has in the pocket...

This is the problem, isn't it? OT might be a very good way to get the whole of Spain behind the act and to attract more attention to the contest, but it's very dangerous when it comes to the song choice. I mean, the time between the announcement that OT would be the NF and the Eurovision song selection gala is so small isn't it? I hope TVE contacted the composers before they announced this publicly because otherwise I don't see good entries coming our way, unfortunately. Also, I hope that the Spanish voters will be able to keep their tastes on the singers aside and actually vote for the songs!

I don't think a talent show is good to pick an act for Eurovision, because people doesn't focus on what they should focus. But anyway, that's what we have and it can't be worse than the last years.
We know that some famous composers wanted to send songs for OT and Eurovision (Pablo López, Zahara, Barei....), but I still have a bad feeling as long as Toñi Prieto is still in charge of everything.

Agree 100%, i smell real talent in Amaia.That girl could be anything.Get the song wrong for her and she could flop,get it right and she could,well she could do anything.Her personality is the key,and she needs a song that lets her quirk's shine out.The worry would be Spain wouldnt have a clue how to connect her to the right song and waste the chance.The best iv seen this year so far in any selection show by a country mile.Hope she gets the ticket (and the right song).

She didn't do well in the trio, imo, but in "Soñar contigo" she grabbed me by the balls again and put me in performance's world that she created.
