I just realized that they do all this fuzz just for four spots out of twelve in the...

Based on the schedule, there should be ten finalists in the end: six in the three "normal" rounds and four in the two second-chance rounds.

I wonder what will happen then since only two acts will make it to EMA. Will there be a TV show? How will both acts be selected exactly? xthink I wonder.

They clearly weren't happy with how Slovenia's thread was performing on this forum over the years and wanted to overthrow Sweden.

I'm still not over the fact that Raiven didn't win EMA with neither Crno Bel nor Zazarim though. I mean, :sl: could ditch EMA for one year as they did back in 2013 and select her internally.

Erm, though internally picking Hannah in 2013 wasn't the best idea they had, but oh well, let's give her a shot at taking part at ESC for once.

Saška - in a 40 seconds she finally made this primitive ballad somehow alive.

Ljudmila Frelih - not my cup at all but it's more "groovy" and features more than just a keyboard tune so I voted for her.

Duel Saška vs Ljudmila Frelih

Saška: I'm sorry that Saška has to suffer my rant, for her effort is not bad per se imo, but I'm really losing patience: is this what most people are into (and up to) forever? I'm fed up with such "normal" and average offers. Tis' a perfectly fine ballad that perfectly does nothing to me at all. The melody and the arrangements are yawn-inducing, and the singer's voice is a bit too shrill for my liking. In my eyes, there is zero appeal in this. Sorry girl, but I want songs that offer something different than the beige mass that plagues the musical world.

Ljudmila Frelih: Well, finally a song that is different from what we've heard so far in the competition. I don't know if my thirst for originality speaks for me, but I kinda like this, it is cute and has a nice vibe. I'd like to hear a finalised version of it. Ljudmila seems to be a decent vocalist as far as the composition is concerned. In my book, this should advance.

Obviously I am #teamLjudmilaFrelih. It's a no-brainer for me, I do like Ljudmila's snippet. I'm not optimistic about her chances to qualify because there have been several not-so-sensible results these last two weeks imo, we need a bit more variety considering who qualified already though. Fingers crossed. Sorry I'm a bit grumpy today for some reason, and I don't want this online selection to turn into EMA FAIL. The second chance rounds will have to be on point, because so far I'm not super thrilled by the current situation.

Dad, I'm merely asking for a good voice and a melody that's not too tired, both elements don't cost anything but work and inspiration (and some will to be different).

I'm enjoying the process too, it's just that I thought more contestants would try to stand out, for that's what Slovenia took advantage of these last two years. But I guess most of them seek national exposure more than anything else, and I don't blame them.

My expectations are Triglav-high I know, I need to keep calm and listen to "Narodnozabavni Rock". I'll be in better spirits tomorrow. :D

I get it. Unoriginality can be boring sometimes. ("Naj boooooooooooooo" xsing for example)
I wish that song was more like this. (Just add more electric guitar) The result would've been the same anyway, but at least I'd go crazy for it:D

Duel Alfirev vs Nuša Pliberšek

www.rtvslo.si/ema-fres

Alfirev: I like the rhythm of the beat and phrasings of this one. I'm not sure how I feel about the snippet overall, but it sounds more sophisticated than most songs of the competition. If there is a drawback to be found for me, it would be the lack of hook or clear melody at some point, for I feel like the chorus blends into the verse and vice versa. Alfirev has a decent voice that seems suited to the composition. This is not bad at all.

Nuša Pliberšek: oh wow! Based on her official picture, I was expecting a baby voice or something, and instead she's got a musical-material one. She seems to be among the strongest vocalist here imo. Since we have no idea whether the snippets will be similar to the finalised versions, it's hard to judge but this ballad is quite melodic, I prefer this one compared to Saška's personally, still it doesn't really move me that much. It's rather nice, but "nice" is not enough I fear.

I guess I am #teamAlfirev today: no hot favourite and I don't dislike Nuša, but I prefer to support the one that makes me less doubtful. And we've had our fair share of piano ballads already I guess.
