I have no idea either :) but I'm surprised bookmakers haven't seen one bit of potential in it so far.
Claiming it could win would be a stretch obviously :D but is it that chanceless as far as qualification is concerned compared with the rest? It remains to be seen. If it were another country sending this, I'm sure it wouldn't be that low to begin with.
We'll see what happens once all entries are out, it wouldn't be the first time an act gets reconsidered by the time Eurovision starts. :)

Keep in mind that these are purely the odds for the win - not for qualification, or for top 10, or for anything like that. Technically, there could somehow be a song that people were 100% sure would end in second place - i.e. do really well - but if nobody thinks it actually has a chance at nabbing that #1 spot, then it's going to have super-long odds. Something along the same lines could be going on here: I've seen people thinking this will do well, but nobody at this point is giving it any consideration as a winner candidate.

That said, I think this is just more a case of divided opinions, since in general the prediction markets haven't reacted to it too well for the top 10 or qualification odds either: looking at Betfair, nobody's snapping up what are already longer-than-average odds in both of those two markets, and more tellingly, nobody's even got a bet offer open on super-long odds. That second point will probably change over the coming weeks, but yeah, more objective predictions aren't expecting too much from this. Generally because it's perceived as "aggressive", I think; also because it's a risky genre that could turn a lot of people away, and it's being sent by Slovenia in a semi full of traditionally strong countries. I'm personally not taking any position on it either way so far, but those are the reasons I've seen thrown around.

You can hardly complain this year. More songs not in English than in many years. Cheers Salvador!

Still too few though (vast majority will still be in English)... and so far we haven't had the final say about some of the entries that are currently in native languages (Slovenia included), could very well be that we will have some desperate translations in the end xshrug

I'm not complaining it's going in the right direction though, but I'm afraid this is just "last year's winner" trend and not some genuine trend unfortunately...

Lea was asked how did her two daughters react to her victory

They said: "Mommy, why did you win and not Lara Kadis?"

EscGeek: don't you think that jury voting looks a bit rigged? I mean - it seems as if someone wanted to be absolutely sure that the supposed winner of the televote would NOT go to Lisbon.... 5 out of 6 juries voting for a special entry, the last one for one that scores 2 times zero and the big favorite does not get a single 12 from any jury but a safe 3rd place from many and some really bad ones in addition? I'm far from being a conspiracy-theroreticist, but if this is odd.....

Ema is often rigged.. xshrug
I think RTVSLO feeds of scandals because if a fan favorite doesn't win, it's all over the news.. This year it's a bit quiet, but last year.. you can just imagine the meltdown..

Wow, the number of televotes received was damn low this year, I can't believe Nuska qualified thanks to viewers  Actually, the juries didn't change their minds by the time the final started, and both parties agreed on the top 3 in the semi, which is good to see.

BBQ winning the televoting was predictable af, they should thank their fan base for that. "Promise" was not a banger.

Nuska was actually second in the final with televoting!

If you think it's low number look at Romania...and compare population of Romania and Slovenia.

I was just comparing them to last year's results: didn't BBQ receive 14000 votes or something? Naber got about 5000 votes iirc.

I know it is controversal to think this, but this song is in need of english lyrics...
It is a rather cool performance and the song is very modern, quirky in a nice way, on the verge of being annoying, but it has some potential of doing well. But I don't understand a single thing of the song, for me she is just "playing cool" and is just strutting around on stage...

But then I heard there was a story behind the lyrics and it got me interested, so I looked up the translation and yeah, then I started to understand the song a bit more. This is a song that could really bring in some votes in ESC, if they really showcase the lyrics, on women empowerment, of listening to ones heart, of staying true to oneself and say "No thanks" to things that feels or is wrong. If Slovenian TV was to work up a good translation to this song, that showcase this, and really work on that promotion, then this could sneak through to the final.

But as it is now, not a single young girl in Sweden, Denmark, Russia or Netherlands for example, who is watching Eurovision in may, will get the message, which would be a total waste for Slovenia...

It's the commentators' job to explain what the next song to be performed is about. Many people have basic knowledge of English and wouldn't get all the lyrics anyway. A brief comment on the subject matter is enough for non-native speakers to get it imo.

Sure, that is true, but I am talking about Slovenias chances in the contest. This year I am really happy to see so many countries sing in their own languages and in every other case I think it helps or at least evens out the chances in the contest to sing in their own language against english. This is the ONLY song so far, I really feel that english is needed. Sure, many out there may not get the song at all anyhow, but I can't see many people care about this even if the commentators do their job. I can't see young girls in Sweden for example be inspired and pick up and vote for this. Her song is a little Zara Larssonesque, which many girls follow as an ideal and idol here in our country, and to ride that wave is not a bad thing I think. You need every moment to get recognition and being a country that often struggles you need to use every single chance to make that extra promotion and to be shown.

This is in the end Leas, the songwriters and RTVSLOs choice in the end on how the song will be performed in Lisbon, and if they choose to stick in Slovenian, well thats fine for me personally I guess. But don't say I didn't tell you that this has the chance of hitting bottom 3 in the total 2018, cause it is as I said partly on the verge on annoying, I didn't get it at all first and maybe even the english language would save the song from being quite offensive, which has scared of voters before (Israel 2014 for example, the angriest singer in Israel ever...even waving a katana in the video...)

Schlagerman1 You said it yourself: if it could musically appeal to Swedish girls or any other category of viewers, they'll vote for it despite the lyrics not being in English. Having a deep understanding of the meaning of it or switching language won't make people vote more if they don't like the music and performance in the first place.

In other words, this song is intrinsically divisive and English lyrics wouldn't really improve its chances IMHO. It would be more likely we would end up with dodgy lyrics whose flow wouldn't fit the pace as much and contribute to making the whole thing sound flatter and more generic than it is.

Like "Igranka", this song actually proves upbeat contemporary music and national languages aren't a no-no.

I get and respect your opinion :p don't get me wrong! It's just that resorting to English when there is a message to share turned out to be an obsession that seldom works in the contest these days, and so many entries in the past were unnecessarily translated unfortunately. It's time both broadcasters and artists start realizing that.

And the best thing about this year's televoting was that the gap between BQL and the rest wasn't as big as last year. I was afraid a bit of these televote numbers cuz if something had happened this year as it did last year, it would completely delegitimize Lea's victory. And I wouldn't want that. So happy that BQL got only 4000+something votes :)
