I think the disconnect between y'all and me on this rehearsal comes from the fact that all the reasons y'all are listing are things I was 1) expecting and 2) enjoy. The dress isn't good? I thought and hoped it'd look like that. The air-violinist is still there? If it weren't for her, the Czech Republic would have a chance at becoming my 10-pointer. The backing singers sound bad? Okay, I'll give you that they aren't necessary, but I won't complain too much about more Nika Zorjan and friends.

I have no problems with the dress or the singers, what basically disappoints me is the lack of an appealing background! (Take a look at Russia for example, they used the LED stuff so well) But thats just for the moment, let's wait until the next rehearsal when we can see more of the performance!

In an interview Raay said that the background will be dark to create a more intimate feeling on stage. Also they said something like they rather have a dark screen than a Windows Media Player background (although I'm not sure if they were joking).

I'm afraid you are right, an so was CatEye. For ten weeks everyone kept telling them that they have an amazing song but need to beef up their presentation. They did nothing. The song is still good, but if they want to have a serious shot at the top 5 they cannot afford to be so ignorant to the demands of the contest. This week we have seen several examples of how a mediocre song can be enhanced by convincing visuals. Seems like this one, unfortunately, is a demonstration of the opposite. I doubt they will finally realize the problem and can come up with some ingenious last-minute ideas. They will pull their way through to the end, and we will see the results. Oh well ...

Hm, although I normally don't like the guys from Wiwibloggs and their judgements - in 99% I have a different opinion than they have - I have to say that they seem to be really optimistic about Slovenia, what makes me quite happy for now!

And to enhance the intimate feeling they put a quirky air violinist on the stage. Does he not understand his own song?

I know what you mean ... What I also don't understand is that the air violinist is really modern and Raay is dressed rather modern and then we have Marjetka in this really old-fashioned dress that in my opinion doesn't suit the song at all ...

Couple of things must be said by me after having been away for so long.
1) I love the (non-)use of LED background. Thanks God we didn't get another landscape or trees. I'd just puke after seing the same thing (like in 10 other cases).
2) I totally dislike the dress. As one German commentator on Youtube said, she looks like wraped up in a courtain. The dress is horrible, horrible. The same designer like the last year! Tinkara looked like a witch! Martjetka/Daisy is such a beautiful lady and this dress doesn't do justice to her beauty. BURN IT! BURN! JUST BURN!
3) Everything else sounds and looks great. No other complaints or comments.
To sum up: BURN THE DRESS. I'd rather see Marjetka naked on the stage than in this horror OXO I am out. Going to see their conference now. Hugs people

Well that was expected. Stubbornness at it's finest.
I really am thinking of praying, that this won't cost us the qualification. It's my favorite song from my country since 2007 and in case this is going to stay in the semi, then we can forget about any serious musician taking part at EMA and we'll get underwhelimng songs sung by nobodies for at least 4-5 years. UGH...

I agree. The dress is horribly formal and uninteresting and big. BURN IT, I second, and if there's no time to find another, ask someone to go fetch the one from the NF. It was perfectly fine.
