You may be right. Imperija would have gotten through quite easily, but now Macedonia is an uncertain card. Even though I think they will get one of the last places from this semi.

They can only rely on Albania, and possibly Bulgaria/Switzerland on televote support, so they might just about avoid the bottom 3 but I agree with you there (or am I too biased as I really, really liked 'Imperija'?)

Macedonia don't have any Balkan country in semifinal (maybe Albania), so they could don't advance to the Grand Final. Every time, Macedonia need least few Balkan countries to make final.

All in random order:

SF1: :dk::ru::ua::nl::by::md::cy::rs::at::hr:

Dark horse: :lt: (it's one of the songs that I hate but could qualify, and make me angry during the presentation of qualifiers)
And I do believe that :cy: is capable of qualifying, the whole situation reminds me of 2004 when our entry was thought to be insignificant (both by ESC fans and Cypriots themselves) but it gave us the best result we ever got.

SF2: :sm::az::fi::mt::is::gr::no::ge::lv::mk:

Yes, I believe that :lv: will qualify. And I think :il: might stay out.

It feels like not qualifying this year is gonna be a bit embarassing or awkward, its only 6 songs per semi-final that wont qualify, it don't even feel like a fight.
18-19 and we are talking.

And I think :il: might stay out.

Don't even remind me on that xsnooty Just believe your favourite semi song not qualifying in the semi which is much worse than the other one. :/

That could happen if juries rank it low, but I think they won't :D

I am pretty certain :il: will not qualify with the audiences but it is a jurywank.

Greece and Finland to me are the "novelty songs" of this year, I'm not sure if they will qualify out of semi 2. France and Germany might help Switzerland get through, but I think it all depends on the performances on the night. Eurovision is usually full of surprises

Semi 1

:dk: Best song - guaranteed qualifier
:ua: Another guaranteed qualifer
:ru: It's Russia.
:by: An eternal joker. Always pops up and qualifies when no one expect them to.
:rs: You usually never go wrong with an uptempo song from Balkan. Should qualify comfortably.
:ee: An ESC-final wouldn't be complete with at least one snooze-fest.
:nl: I have serious doubts about this one, but at the end of the day the jury should be able get this to the final.
:lt:
:md: Because history proved to me that at least one shock-qualifier is mandatory so now I don't have to say "wtf, this piece of garbage qualified"
:hr: Same as Moldova

My predictions for both SF

SF 1:

:at: (I really hope so)
:ee: (by the juries)
:hr: (good song with good singers)
:dk: (for sure - the favorite of this ESC)
:ru: (good ballad)
:ua: (for sure)
:nl: (I really hope so)
:md: (by the juries)
:ie: (if he sounds good live)
:rs: (the same like Ireland)

SF 2:

:sm: (will be very successful at the end)
:az: (as always)
:fi: (she will rock the stage)
:mt: (nice song)
:gr: (horrible, but they will get enough points)
:il: (good ballad)
 (for sure)
:ge: (great song)
:ch: (they deserve it)
:ro: (he will have enough fans)

Semi-Final 1 (in no particular order):

:ru: It's Russia for Pete's sakes. The day Russia won't qualify is the day Hell will freeze. I'm not complaining though, it's one of the best ballads of the year.
:ua: Another good ballad, a big favourite for victory as it seems. I see no reason why it won't qualify.
:dk: After all the hype and high placings in betting odds, Denmark is a sure qualifier. I don't like the song, but it seems to appeal to a lot of people.
:me: Say what you wanna say - Igranka is one of the most modern songs of this year. If the show is powerful, this will get votes from here and there and make it (I sure hope so.)
:md: Moldova has a strong powerful song and a passionate performer. Song will appeal to juries and I think televoters will also like it, it's memorable.
:nl: FINALLY it seems as if Netherlands will qualify. Birds is extremely mysterious, quite indie-ish. Placing 6-8 could be there for Anouk. I sure hope so.
:rs: Montenegro is there, Slovenia is there, Croatia is there - neighbourly help is there, but is it enough? Is this a possible 10th qualifier?
:sl: Modern dubstep song, yet not as modern as Montenegro. Still, I think it'll stay in people's minds and it'll be enough.
:be: While most people seem to think the song is not that good, from the draw it has and the modern appeal, I see no reason to why Belgium wouldn't make it.
:lt: If Donny Montell was 4th with the horror show that was Love is Blind, and Evelina Sasenko was 5th (seriously, where do these votes come from?), I think Lithuania will once again be the WTF-qualifier of the night. Maybe the draw between Montenegro's party anthem and Belarus' repetitive song isn't all that good, but if C'est Ma Vie and Love is Blind made it, I can somehow believe Andrius is through.

Bubbling right under: :at: & :cy:

Semi-final 2 (in no particular order):

:az: Farid sings well and the song is decent. I don't know why, but I am getting huge Milim-vibes from this. Farid doesn't seem to have as big stomach pains as Harel though. Azerbaijan will not be the shocking non-qualifier, it will go through comfortably with a good song.
 A big favourite for victory once again. I am afraid whether it'll really appeal to people, but still, it's a clear qualifier - if Norway flops, it'll happen in the final.
:ge: Waterfall is exactly what I imagined to happen when Quedate Conmigo and Running Scared had a lovechild. Could be a possible semi-final winner.
:ro: One of the best voices (and definitely most unique) of the entire year, but the song might bring it down a lot. I believe juries will help this one through and there we have it - the WTF-qualifier of semifinal 2. Every semi just needs that.
:hu: Oh, how I wish. It would be lovely if this went through, but maybe putting it here is just wishful thinking. But it might just pull a Compact Disco and be the 10th qualifier.
:gr: Greece will qualify yet again. Alcohol is Free is a fun song that gets stuck in your head, a nice touch between Iceland and Israel.
:is: Not completely sure about this one, but it's a nice, happy song and the language sounds pretty. 9th qualifier and pulling a Never Again in the final I believe.
:sm: Call me crazy, but if Crisalide makes it, it could be a strong contender for victory on the 18th. The song is powerful and Valentina sings amazingly.
:bg: Elitsa and Stoyan stole hearts back then with Voda, and with similarities, Samo Shampioni will probably qualify. People won't go as bananas over it as they did with Voda, but it'll end up in the final nicely.
:ch: I don't know. Maybe. I have no idea anymore, I just can't come up with 10 qualifiers from this semi but Switzerland just might.

Bubbling right under: :mt: & :fi:
