I believed the San Marino royal duck's poo was a beauty cream ???

It could well bexthink

In which case I suggest that Mrm puts his umbrella away. I hear that royal San Marino duck poo also has some calming properties to it? You see things differently in life after you've been blessed by the poo of a San Marinese duck. You become a young lady or gentleman, gifted with eternal youth, manners and dignity.

What a fantastic interview with Ralph and Mauro. That has made me warm to Ralph so much. What a lovely, lovely man. You can tell that this is his life, his passion and there is nothing he enjoys more.

It's was upsetting to hear that everyone was so sad last year including Valentina. I wonder if they felt defeated before they even arrived in Baku? But Ralph is a gentleman for wanting to give Valentina a better chance and he certainly has.. and you really can feel that something special, very emotional and honest in Valentina's voice. Ralph really does love her.

One of the best interviews ever. I pray Matt's one at the party tonight is just as long and in depthxpray

I agree with you completly. I like that interviewers did such great job, sometimes their interviews are funny, sometimes weird but they almost always ask interesting things and try to get random or useful information from the people they talk to.
This was really interesting to hear, I heard and read a lot about Crisalide (obviously) and it's creation but the other part of interview was also very nice with more personal views and stories.
I was puzzled a little hearing those things about Baku, because they didn't show it back then and kind of hold onto the song and whole act till the very end. I thought they had more fun with it, of course joke entry. As it seems there was a lot of negative emotions too. But I'm glad they are doing this again in much different fashion.

I just got back home from the San marino party and boy, Rainy Woods would have died of Joy. It was such an intimate atmosphere and I was right in front of Valentina when she performed a Jazz version of Crisalide and many other songs (including her 2012 effort and also Germany 1987). Though she sang the English version, it seemed almost more appropriate. She was a firecracker and I cannot wait to upload the videos I took (bad quality as I used my Iphone for it). It was great to meet these people and the weirdest thing is that all these other ESC acts were running around like they're your buddies. Roberto from Belarus, Lozano from Macedonia, Farid from Azerbaijan, Moran from Israel etc....what a night.
Looking forward to the Belarus party this Saturday.

Oh my goodness Matt, your life from this day on will feel different. You'll never be the same again. I cannot begin to imagine how you must have felt exactly being right in front of Valentina. I hope you were able to tell her how loved she is on here.

I love the fact she performed "The Social Network Song (Oh Oh-Uh-Oh Oh)", it obviously has a place in her heart. This jazz version of "Crisalide (Vola)" please tell me you captured it. I don't care if the quality is crumby. I will be able to feel itxheat

xheat Valentina is for sure one of the best that Eurovision had so far. Social Network song was epic, everyone will remember it for long, and Crisalide is like new breath of Eurovision

Oh my goodness. I'm glad I decided to check on here quickly before closing my eyes to sleep. That was simply incredible and has actually made me feel a bit sad now. This interpretation of the song absolutely kicks the living daylights out of the ESC version.. and you just know this is the true Valentina here on display. The soul and passion she sings with, it's extraordinary. I get chills hearing that voice. I know Valentina loves "Crisalide" and the message of the song. I just wish she could perform the song this way in Malmo. Only us hardcore fans and very lucky few have got to hear Valentina like this. As someone who's had jazz in their life pretty much from the beginning, I can honestly, hand on heart say that Valentina has something very special that cannot be bought. I always get touched when I see Valentina in an environment like this, pouring her heart out. This is her life, it's what she's done for years. As Ralph said, Valentina has had it hard, performing in small jazz bars not even getting paid some nights. Whoever gets to hear her sing like this is incredibly lucky.

Matt I still await the arrival of your gloriously lofi, intimate video. I will savour it just as much.

And that man playing for Valentina has the same keyboard I own!
