This is poor taste, especially with SF1 being tomorrow. I hope the EBU takes the right steps in this matter

I am laughing my ass off tbh.

The Russian jury finally exposed the flaws of the voting system. They will probably be disqualified but we all know that the scandal will remain.

Found the translations on Twitter.

"I'm for Armenia. My husband is Armenian." xfacepalm

For Douwe: "kinda cute but dull"

And the rest of the video they were apparently discussing the budget SVT has put into show. So relevant.

This is ridiculous. I'm all for the jury but clearly the system needs a serious overhaul. Five jurors isn't enough and they need to be strictly music professionals who are directly involved in the song-making or editing process. It should go without saying they need to critique the performances in a solitary environment without any influences or hindrance. Hopefully there's a lot of fallout over this, as there deservedly should be which will pressure the EBU to take action.

Seriously, if we continue to have juries, they will have to be in the venue and judge the same performance as the tele-voters. They have to sit in special tables like in other contests and stuff.

I never understood why we have "jury semis" and "jury finals". This is stupid! The system needs change!

This is disgusting and EBU should issue a punishment for rule breaks. It will be difficult to disqualify a favourite without it looking like a conspiracy, however. I think they are more likely to simply discount Russia's votes.

It is a shame that not all countries get punished for breaking the rules, though.

This thread is entitled "Russian Jury Voting", not Bosnian... it seems that some people are just searching for excuses to attack Russia.

The Russian jury is the only one bold enough to show their lack of professionalism to the whole world in a Periscope live stream and you defend them?
This shows that they don't even understand that they are doing something wrong. Otherwise they would try to keep it a secret.

Next I want to see the juries from Armenia/Azerbaijan release videos in which they all rank the other country last while snickering like crazy and taking selfies of themselves with the ranking sheets.

Can someone explain to me which rule the jury broke? I'm honestly surprised at the reaction? Did you think they sat there in dead silence without talking, moving or using their phone? They're just people.

They are not allowed to make their votes public, they are not allowed to make the broadcast public and they are supposed to vote professionally, which they clearly didn't. Other juries are probably no better but we've never had proof.

It's good that we have this video now. The Russian jury and other juries have probably been voting like this since 2009.

In the event that Russia's jury is disqualified, what happens? Does Russia only get to award one set of points from the tele-vote??

I think the best way to prevent this from happening in the future (and to keep it a SONG contest) is for the juries to rank all the songs based on the songs alone without seeing the performance. This can be done from their home counties before the rehearsals even begin...

In all fairness though, we don't actually know how they voted. We can infer some from the comments, but nothing more.

They clearly broke the rules, even if they decided to give the 7 points to another country in the end. They are not allowed to release any information about the voting.

I'm not trying to be an ass, but genuinely curious. Where can I get a copy of these rules?

Thing is, in the Eurovision Song Contest we are not judging the song only, we are judging the entire performance, how it sounds live, the staging etc.
Plus, if that happened, the juries would be voting for a studio version while televoters would be voting for the live performance....obviously not fair.

Taken from here

Each Participating Broadcaster shall ensure that its National
Jury is fully independent and votes in total impartiality. It shall
cooperate with the EBU and the independent auditor in
connection with all matters regarding National Jury voting

"My husband is Armenian, I'm voting for Armenia" is hardly "in total impartiality" is it?
