I am so disappointed by the fact that you are my fellow countryman/woman... According to your logic, not a single prostitute is capable of loving or deserving love. For, since Russia has had bad publicity (over the last ten years ever since they kicked from the president's chair that drunkard), everybody interprets anything what Russia(ns) do(es) and it goes against our preconceived notions of her/them is immediately interpreted as hypocricy blah blah blah.

Well, my dear Nika Zorjan fan, I think that also Western Europe is being hypocritical when booing singers on the ESC-stage. We, fans, are loving, accepting, and so on, but as it seems to me, we are nothing less judgemental towards Russians as they are towards members of the LGBT community.

And for the record: I've had a Russian gay friend who told me that perhaps the situation wasn't perhaps ideal for gays in Russia at the time being, but he/many Russian gays still preferred Putin's rule over the years of "freedom" in the 1990's when almost everyone had been unemployed "having nothing but air in his fridge" - to quote literaly my Russian friend. So, all together, Russians are just OK, we only have to teach them that gays aren't their problem or cause of their problems ;)

And now, please, enjoy Polina Gagarina's song for the song's sake, don't let yourself get troubled by politics :)
Clearly you missed the point of my post. I don't judge Russians, since they can effect what's happening in Russia just as much as I can effect the tragicomedy that is happening in the Slovene parliament. I also never supported the booing that happened last year, since the twins have nothing to do with it and honestly I was disgusted by their booing, just like I was disgusted when Armenia and Georgia got booed at the Eurovision in concert that year. Boing a singer in a freaking song contest won't solve anything, it will just give the fans a bad image.
I do however consider it pathetic that the broadcaster is selecting such generic insincere peace songs. But I would say that for every broadcaster, since I am not a fan of those songs and sending such songs in row comes across as desperate IMHO. So yeah the criticism goes to the broadcaster who is selecting these songs.
And sorry, I can't enjoy this song, not because it's from Russia, but as stated it's in the same boat as the song that San marino sent. I honestly couldn't care less about the country who sent it and even if my own country would have sent this, it would have been in my bottom 10. I judge the songs and this is as bad as the song that Switzerland sent in 2006.

Also I'm not really a fan of Nika Zorjan, she's OK. I have her in the avatar because of the funny facial expression she made.

The funny thing is that not a single political comment was posted about Russia here after Polina's song was revealed, until Carian misread my critique of the piece of music, and gave me a lecture. That's when the topic turned politicalxup

It really should just be about the music herexfacepalm

I really want to hate this (for mostly political reasons) but one look at her eyes and I'm melting...Song is nice too but honestly, SHE is the reason I'm thinking about voting this instead of Slovenia. Damn you, Russians for using this kind of tactics.

 I noticed her eyes too :D Wow!

Funny, the same thing old generations are saying about the communist era here xcrazy I'm not commenting any more on this subject because is off-topic. Just wanted to say that

As for 'A million voices', I'm absolutely disgusted by the comments this song received on youtube :(

I actually feel really guilty for liking this song, I wish it was San Marino's song

I'm not gonna lie. I think the song is great. But as with Azerbaijan (which I also like) I can't enjoy it with an open heart, knowing it has been slyly crafted by a couple of Swedes. I know the same could be said about "Euphoria", but this is just contrived on a whole new level..

People say you shouldn't judge the song based on politics. Why shouldn't you, when this song is obviously a political statement? They know exactly what they're doing.

I will judge it for what it is - a very successful charm offensive. 7 points.

One of the best ballads this year. I really like it. It will easily end in top 5 in the final.

When I lately - at the time when all the possible entries were discussed here - browsed a bit the russian pop music on you tube, I was so positively impressed of how good russian sounds in an uptempo song. Why on earth did Russia not choose this opportunity and send such a combination. That would have been great.
The ballad is a ballad is a ballad is a ballad. All the elements are here for success: beautiful girl with strong voice, easy to remember hook line, power, orchestra, emotion. Perhaps too perfect, to "clean", I miss the little something that makes it special, personal, individual.
But of course, I like to listen to it and so I think it will do quite well. Perhaps even a bit better, than it deserves, but I don't mind that. But definitely not a winner this year.

I don't think Russia wants to win this year. Nothing but trouble would come out of it when the western hardliners start demanding a boycott. It would hurt the ESC and just everyone involved (except the hardliners).

My favorite ballad of this year´s Eurovision at the moment and it´s even growing. Could/Should be in my top 5 very soon.

Seems as if Russia is having a contest against themselves every year trying to pick even cheesier lyrics to a song than the year before. I thought it would be impossible after last year's abysmal but wow...they've done it again.

Despite my first reservations I find this the strongest of the ballads. The last 60 seconds has a very stirring progression and the 'sing it out' bit just really clicks with me.

Over 900,000 views on the official channel in just 2 days...most watched xheya

With over 12,000 likes and only 2,000 dislikes xcheer

I like the song but those views and likes are really fishy, especially cause we in Europe know how the current situation is between Ukraine and Russia and EU and Russia..

Well Polina is suppose to be a big star in the ex-USSR countries so chances are she has a lot of fans who are viewing it

So I expect the ex-USSR countries to go bigger for Russia this year then in the last few and with Ukraine out it only benefits her too

Nope, I'm Asian-American and technically Jewish but I don't practice ;)

I think only East European blood I have is Hungarian and Polish

I have Russia softly #2 this year behind Italy and just above Azerbaijan but to be honest my rankings never mean much since I always change them after I listen to a song  But this year Italy is firmly #1 for me, that won't change

I'm starting to like this. The lyrics still put me off though.
