And politics or not, artists represent countries

So what? They should make sure the lyrics of their songs are....in line with the country's history or attitude or political views???

That's ridiculous.

If any other name would sing this song, I'd be ok with it.. I mean it's Russia's recent style - I usually dislike it with Shine being an exception (Shine xlove), but they have been successful so I understand why they maintain it. But the name Polina Gagarina and this description (Work Your Magic meets Song Number One) made me expect much more, so I'm very disappointed. :(

I still don't hope she gets booed, but I think it will happen. Austrians are very keen on political correctness so I'm sure they will see it as a legitime way to sanctionate the "mistakes" of Russia.

And here we go again, massive anti Russian histeria on ESC stage vol 356484584.
Bravo Europe, long live democracy, long live politics in sport, music, art and everywhere

And about Russia 2015. I was delighted with Polina, but I'm afraid can not say the same for song

Of course they should: We don't wanna put in (Georgia 2009), I love Belarus (2011), A Luta é Alegria (Portugal 2011), Alcohol is Free (Greece 2013) everything's in line with the country they represent, don't you think? :D just kidding.

I thought What If was a decent song. If they enter decent songs I don't mind, I can take it simply as music than as a political statement. The political way of looking at Eurovision does seem quite normal in the East, they can take it very seriously there as a propoganda vehicle. Israel of course has tried to do politics at Eurovision, Georgia was forced to withdraw one year...

Hey, propaganda wars are so much easier to fight. They are far cheaper than real wars, and for some reason no one ever thinks about accusing the attackers ...

....and I was hoping Russia would save the contest... no no no... So far I really dont fall for this... I am sure she has great vocal abilities. But her voice lacks that somehing extra that would make me love it. And the song? hmm.... not too promising.....

(well, not that the contest needs to be saved anymore; Belgium and Czhech Rep did their part this week)
