Why am I not surprised that they don't speak a word of English?

Strange how they actually sing in English better though than a good chunk of the entries who actually can speak the language.

First of all THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO BEGIN TALKING ABOUT POLITICS!

Apparently the votes from Crimea will be counted as Ukrainian votes.. so Points to Russia?

Why everyone woke up after annexation of Crimea that people there are mainly Russian and therefore vote for Russia? The situation looks like that since years, nothing will change, everything stays exactly the same...

But now a few protest votes will be made, to prove a point

Still Crimea is inhabited by 2.5 mln people why the rest of Ukraine by 43 mln. Don't forget the Ukraine is extremely divided and while people of Crimea, Donetsk or Kharkiv are likely to vote for Russia, people from Lviv or Kiyv will never do it. So I wouldn't be so sure about 12 from Ukraine to Russia.

Well what did you expect with everything that's been happening recently with you know what...people will always say that has nothing to do with it but we all know it does xshrug

I hope they somehow prove the odds wrong but my wishes never comes true for sporting/award events x0s

Maybe the situation will hurt Russia a little, but their song is clearly not up to their usual standards. Remember, Russia was as high as Top Ten before the song was selected. The political situation was ongoing at the time and everyone knew it, yet people placed bets on it. Up till the rehearsals it was at hanging at around 11-12, but it's started falling hard after the rehearsal. Why, because people are realizing it's not going anywhere because it's not good.

Of course, no matter where Russia ends up, it'll be "because of the politics." sigh

I think it will end higher than people expect. It is a nice simple song with nice singers.
Plus :12: from :mt: is a safe assumption

I really love this song and I hope that they don't get booed on stage... :?

If they do I think it wil just encourage televoters to vote for it. They are nice girls and I think if people hear booing then they will feel sympathy

I really like this song and I hope they do well

It was around #14-#15 before the rehearsals and ESC even began so your wrong. They were steadily losing steam in the betting before the song was even presented

Your opinion is no surprise since you've been one of the primary Russia bashers far before the song was even revealed

But the girls aren't Putin or the Russian government. So, they shouldn't suffer for the actions of their country's leaders. And I think some televoters may feel the same way.

In a perfect world you would be correct but we don't live in a perfect world unfortunately. They represent Russia and that's enough reason for many. Yes there are many televoters who feel the same way but there are just as many who don't xshrug

Just like last year so many here showed complete disgust that the UK dared to give points to Russia (it was the jury that made it happen) and flat out stated no way in hell the British televoters would ever vote for Russia. You got people here flat out admitting they would NEVER vote for Russia regardless of the song.
