I strongly disagree on Mimicat - I don´t think that people ouside the fanbase/ESC bubble will understand it .. but who knows... her performance was well-staged/-executed and very entertaining... but dunno, I kind of get "Suzy" vibes (just sassier and with a hotter attitude... but it won´t be enough in semi 1 because of all the hot favourites/contenders).... I hope I´m wrong, though.
Suzy was a safe Q for the televoters.
Mimicat has a real televote magnet on her hands. Let's see.

Yeah, arguably in a weaker semi final, imo. Mimicat might sneak in but dunno, it has "NQ written all over it", in my opinion - but I like Portugal in Eurovision and they always bring something different and new to the table... let´s wait if I´m wrong in May (hopefully, I am)

A televote magnet considering we have Finland, Sweden, Norway, Czechia, Moldova and Croatia in our semi? For real?

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but...
My view is that some the demography of the televote that could vote for Mimicat will not vote for Norway, Czechia, Moldova and Finland, the boomers

I mean, not saying you're wrong, but we also don’t know if all those songs will be the massive televote juggernauts that people claim. Finland and Sweden are givens, for obvious reasons, but the others could easily flop.

Yeah, maybe. I just feel that this was probably the year to send a really good slow song to contrast with the rest, and we're chosing otherwise xD

Ok. So, send Tinoco? Hum, it is risky

Girl, the final hasn’t happened. Yall acting like Mimicat or Claudia are locked. Both can easily tank with the juries. Someone like Ivandro can still win.

I don't know the situation but I feel YCWCB would be a good choice for this target

Bandeiras is by far the best song of this year so far if you ask me, but I had higher hopes for the performance. It's not strong enough in terms of staging and having a theme that works. It looks kinda silly now.

Also, the vocals are too thin now compared to the studio. Backing track on especially the chorus should be stronger. It's lacking energy and impact at the moment.

Anyways, it's not bad, but I fear it's just not enough to win and that's sad, because the song is great.

Oh, yeah a beautiful and touching ballad would clearly shine in that semi

I don´t want to be a debbie downer, you´ve got an amazing national final this year - I just wanted to give me two cents how I feel about the "fan favourites" as a foreigner.

If you ask me I think that :pt: would deserve to qualify with a lot of acts this year but every time I watch/hear Mimicat´s performance/songs, it gives me that strange (almost surefire) NQ-kind-of-vibe.

@TB98 I don´t think that  can "easily flop" - it was already #1 on Spotify Global Viral (we´ve already seen her performance) and :md: also had an incredible staging for such a tiny and low-budget NF today - there´s no way  :se: :fi: :md: won´t be qualifying, imo.

I'm with you on this one. I don't think Mimicat has the overall appeal the Portuguese fandom seem to believe it has.
