I cannot be the only one that cringes throughout the whole performance? The dance, the jumping, the spinning, the AY AY AY… sorry I don’t see the appeal at all? I even find it a little .. scary at points hahaha.

My god, this is the kitchen sink, the toilet and the garden shed all in one song together. It’s sooooo over the top that it’s dreadful.

What’s worse is the fact the national final clip I’ve seen on the Eurovision YouTube channel is so clearly mimed that it adds to the sheer awfulness of it all.

Who the hell do they think they’re fooling with that?

It’s dated, tacky and just three minutes of noise. It’s not as bad as Malta, so it’s getting a score of 1️⃣ from me.

Maybe they'll make the "scream" be part of a backing vocal soundtrack, so that she won't have to put too much effort into it? That trick has been used before. I can't imagine her nailing it every time during a true live performance.

Okay, well, this is not bad at all but I think Lusterka could've been top 5 in Basel... That was an insane performance, hope they're back sometime for Poland.

Justyna is a :7: for me.

I haven't watched the show yesterday so I catched back both "Gaja" and "Lusterka" performances: yes, Poland has made the right choice!
Anyway, "Gaja" should be a bit tempered, as this is such a huge - but hot - mess. A little bit less crossfit exercices for Justyna, a little more singing. And the male singer is a bit weird (and sings too loudly). But with good work in the coming weeks, I smell at least a televote top ten!

+1

No melody, no dynamics (whole thing is just at the same flat level, even in the middle 8), kitchen sink approach to staging that looks an absolute mess, dance breaks are very weak, costumes from late 00s/early 10s Eurovision, she is definitely using a lot of playback over the vocal. I agree it is tacky and dated and the wailing does get annoying by the end.

Comments on Youtube and other places seem completely detached from reality.

Does it qualify? I'm not sure. Not on the merits of the song but then Polish diaspora is pretty influential. Luna's live singing was very weak but then she made up for it with batshit crazy staging. I don't think this Xena Warrior Princess stuff is going to have the same appeal to televoters.

Actually sorry I disagree, the Maltese song is actually an alright pop song if you take out the issues with the lyrics.

I was absolutely dying of cringe during the first 30 seconds or so (what is this crazy old woman trying to accomplish here?), but... GOD DAMN after that, something FLIPPED, that beat hit all of my dopamine centers at once, and after the violin I was completely sold.

I love her presence and all of her insane movements. Just put some facepaint and some crazy headgear on her and staging-wise, she would be the total package.

The only unnecessary thing is the horrible English part, if it was fully in Polish it would have been an absolutely top-tier song.

Still, I think this has become my third favorite after Zjerm and Asteromata, after just two listens. This is going to be absolutely huge in Basel, it is very fun and the diaspora will push it to top 6 at least. Maybe even higher, if the juries don't decide to bury it.

This is so Eurovision 2005. In a good way...
However, Eurovision audience changed jussttt a little bit. Not sure about final result.
Overall, it is a solid 6 from me. It has potential to get more.

Ps: Justyna looks great. Even younger comparing with 1995. Crazy.

I´m happy for Pani Steczkowsa that the can represent :pl: again after thirty years, even though I´m not too fond of her entry from 1995 to be honest. 😅

What do I think of "Gaja"?? It´s definitely everything but boring in my opinion. Justyna absolutely owns the stage and you can clearly see her long experience as a singer. The song itself is alright and I like that it´s almost completely in Polish. For me personally it´s a bit too chaotic and similar to many other ethno tracks we heard in the past, some compare her to Ruslana and I can see why, it really has a 2000s vibe. At least I like Justynas voice much more. 🙂

This can absolutely reach the final since this kind of music always has an audience, and I could see :ua: voting for this kind of song as they´re in the same semi final. Then I don´t think this will end higher than 15th at most though, musically it´s still rather basic and juries most likely won´t like it.

In the end I give Justyna a solid :6:, I kinda enjoy it but it just doesn´t excite me all that much either. xshrug

If only the vocals were better, this polish entry would be a solid and safe top 10 but unfortunately it's not great vocally and also a bit chaotic. It's my 4th so far this year but maybe also the most likely to fall into my ranking when other entries are revealed if they are better vocalists. I give this a :8:
If vocals were better? I'm sorry, who else call pull shit like that while maintaining 95% success rate at hitting notes. Most of the performances had troubles with in ear monitors, cut her some slack man 😁

Also I bet it was one of the most stressful moments of her life. Don't you worry about what's gonna happen in May 😉
