I am surprised that people have issues with the staging. I thought it looks pretty interesting at least we are not getting those windows movie maker effects (i think?). The only main issue is her non-existent vocals. Even Bejba sounds so much better than her.

It‘s only a snipped but weren‘t her vocals a bit weak? Or did I hear the wrong part and the overall impression was good?

I love this song and the staging looks very good to me. But Luna needs to do something about her vocals, or it will be sad to see her go after the semi final.

I'm afraid that the performance will be a total flop. What Poland needs to have again is a NF and the jury retained but with a limited power so we end up with the best option possible.

I'm surprised that she struggles with the vocals, the song is far removed from the most challenging ones to sing that will appear at the Eurovision at all. I guess she's just not good enough at singing as it cannot be simply nerves.

German televote gave 12 points to Gromee feat. Lukas Meijer. I guess thats a really good polish song?

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of Germans voted for it ... it seems like Germany loves their inoffensive pop songs more than some other nations.

This is in my bottom 5 this year, I just don't enjoy the song and find the singer's voice irritating.

They do! Been living there for quite some time I can tell you the worst thing is German radio pop sung by Germans.

But I don’t think Isaak for example can be labeled as German pop. It’s radio friendly, yes, but could have been on any other radio in any other country. I actually like his song a lot. It’s something I wouldn’t skip when I‘m in the car or which I would put on when I‘m at home doing my stuff.

Luna, on the other side - she‘s lovely but obviously not a good vocalist. I think every live performance we got so far hinted at it so I knew she‘d probably fail. Sad to say her performance was the weakest of all in the round-up.

I still like the song but the vocals just aren't there amongst all that is going on stage. I'd still like them to qualify but won't feel gutted or especially robbed if they now fail to.

I like "The Tower". It is a song that manages to radiate feelings: it has a style halfway between sweetness and dream. Maybe it's a song, like "Snap", that isn't a hit in a contest but more on the radio and commercial side. It will grow with time. The staging confuses me. On the one hand I don't like it; although consistent with the music video by showing the theme of chess and black vs white, I am not won over by the slightly forced masks and dances of the chessboard pieces. On the other hand, however, I seem to sense that surrealist dreamlike atmosphere that winks at Dalì's madness: a starry sky streaked with falling stars, a life-size chessboard, chessboard pieces, Luna and a large red horse. How can you not be fascinated by it? I don't know, "The Tower" is an unknown. It can swing from ninth place to following in the same footsteps as “Snap.” I lean more towards the second way. In this crazy-sounding edition it could unfairly fall into anonymity and then grow, as previously mentioned, from the end of the contest onwards.

From what I've seen the live performance feels like they're doing too much and her vocals don't seem that strong.

I feel like diaspora will probably be enough to get Poland over the line but no more than that.

I (and my best friend who is a 1700 elo chess player and watched all songs with me on my initial replay) have one small issue with the music video, which is the use of chess as a gimmick only - I wish they'd shown us some actual chess positions that would merit serious thinking from the protagonists, instead of just the opening position and then the "clash all the pieces together" one - you can easily tell players from the music video aren't real chess players. The staging successfully avoids this problem, concentrating on the pieces as such (Luna moves as a queen instead of a rook, but that can be forgiven, in my eyes she still is a Queen but wanted to subvert the trope a little with her song).

I predict a similar trajectory to :ie: 2021. The staging is great, but it bites more than Luna can chew. Would be very happy if she can prove me wrong though, as the song itself is a :12: for me, her voice reminds me of someone I really like and can't put my finger on (but it's not Ellie Goulding).

A song about people who don't know how to play chess. 7 points.

Unfortunately she wasn't good enough. Still one of my favorites. Lovely song, even lovelier performer. Wish her the best in her career.

I was not surprised. vocally that was weak (especially during the verses) and the overall package was not really convincing either.
