Always love me some synths, but I have to pass this one. She has that Ellie Goulding-/ Lena-esque type of breathy, girlish singing voice that I grew to despise over the past years due to daily exposure on the radio.
Seems to be a lovely person though, wish her all the best.

This is so, so close to become my fifth :12: pointer this year. If the live is good, it will definitely be.

Ok, screw myself of the past. No need to wait. This is a :12:, without ifs. I really can't find something I don't like about this one and I've been playing It constantly. Welcome to my 2024 top-tier list, Luna. Well deserved.

I have warmed up a little bit to after my initial disappointment. I have seen the name Luna mentioned among the favourites to win our preselection btw. The chorus is actually pretty good and her voice has a pleasant, sweet tone to it, but that's the only merits about The Tower. Even though the song sounds a lot like 15 ''recommended by Spotify new songs'' put into blender, it does not seem to me like a ''fake song''. Maybe Luna enjoys this kind of music and just this is her style too and she's not just some corporate product, who knows?

the last really good pop song i have heard at the ESC (the roop 2020 too but canceled) was city lights from blanche and here is the next one.
the bookies are still sleeping on it. :D
this song could also go the armenian surprising way after the ESC.

Well if the song is bland and basic in terms of vocal requirements, you can't get problems while performing it live. Ask her to cover Gate or Fighter and see how she copes ;)

Luckily she doesn't compete Ulveham or Fighter so why should she care about coping with singing those if she can The Tower without any problems ;)

I haven't listened to other songs from the Polish preselection, but I think The Tower is a cute entry, as someone has said before me it's well put together! Luna's reaction to being selected to represent her country was cute too! :giggle: So, good luck :pl:!

it dawned on me that luna's cursive singing is identical to that of margaret berger xheart

Thank you for spotting it, that's why it sounded familiar to me as well! Margaret Berger had a solid entry too in 2013.

It's an alright pop song. But for me personally it doesn't do anything new or interesting that would award it points. It is an enjoyable listen, but it doesn't end with me feeling... anything, really. I don't hate or dislike anything that much, I don't want anything more from it, I don't care enough to listen to it again on my own, but I won't be grumpy if I'd had to listen to it from the radio or something.

:6: points.

Don't worry, the "K" word is very useful and it's what some of us really think when we see the results of our selection every year or the results of Eurovision.
