Re: Pacific States - WV 101: Sara Bareilles - "She Used To Be Mine"
THANK YOU.
I kind of wondered if this was ever going to happen and, for the record, have enjoyed myself so very much despite leaning towards "never." This song makes me feel incredibly warm, and it's such a poignant story of dreams broken, selves lost, and happier times. Not to mention that showtunes are a big part of me, too - songs I've loved for just about my entire life in the face of my passion for them not really helping my square peg get any rounder. Thank you to the people listed below for hearing what I hear in this song.

It's been a bit of an unstable year for me and WorldVision; I left and returned twice, and this edition kind of felt like I was BACK for good. I went to LLs, I made time for results shows, I did a proper greenroom post, and this feels like something of an exclamation point that I'm not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Thank you
all (regardless of whether you helped it along numerically) so very much for providing it & for being so welcoming and patient on my journey back.
Here's to more. I want to keep people guessing, revealing different facets of music and myself.
For posterity:
A FEW LOGISTICAL NOTES.
Our host city will be Snoqualmie, Washington! I got the chance to spend some time there this past fall, and while I've emphatically never been a camper or a hiker or anything along those lines, I probably would've become one if I grew up there. It's that beautiful. Working on the intro post. Y'all will definitely wake up to it; it may be up before you sleep.
As for the PQ, it seems like there are three approaches to sending a PQ:
a) Treat it like a normal entry
b) Send something so special and poignant that you
couldn't see it miss
c) Get a free spot in the final for something that
would miss
My responses to these three options are "thank u, next," "hm, maybe, but I don't know if I want to wallow two editions in a row" and "yeah, that's probably the one." b) and c) are easy to combine for my tastes, though. I probably will.
